I prefer the stocky look as well. It always seems warlords (especially Lucius Patterns) have really stick thin legs.

@solstice: Sure. The base model is a whfb vc crypt ghoul, with all the bones/spines/scars clipped and filed off. I left the odd bit of hair, especially round the nether-regions, to be painted as scraps of cloth. The heads are simply the crypt ghoul heads covered in gs and smoothed into a faceless mask. Then add whatever mechanical gubbins you like, smoothing the transition between machine and flesh with some fibrous/scar tissue made by a small bit of gs poked into a few times.

@logg_frogg: No worries. Im in the exact opposite boat, desperately need more infantry, yet just bought 4 more vehicles I need to do something like that resolution, but theres no way in hell id stick to it

Its a terrible terrible thing chemical cutthroat, they force you into flats with alot of people you don't know and insist on excessive binge drinking. Then, when you come to, dressed in a traffic cone and a pirate costume they ask you to go to sit in a large stuffy room with a boring man in tweed who talks at you, i think its a challenge, the last person to fall asleep wins something...I'm not sure what, i've never won a round yet.

But yeah, uni is university, so college to you yanks. It aint that bad timewise, but hard to find modelling motivation when drink/clubs/friends/Too many other destractions are literally a few metres away!

On another note, my paint comp entry is shaping up nicely, the scenic base will be finished today, leaving me tomorrow to build the other duellist and 7 days after that to paint the whole thing.

Great job on the Vindicare! I remember the WIPs on that model a few pages back- the paintjob definitely does it justice!

I just finished and submitted my painting competition entry.

Very happy, especially because i only started on monday! Although i now realise that i have no excuse ever to paint slowly

Nah mate theres no way its a chore, at least in first year. All im doing is getting drunk atm! The next three years however will probably kill me.

Ah crap!! That was the one you were talking about?! Out of all of them, that one stood out to me. The rust-texturing is fantastic on the diorama base... so nasty that I don't even want to touch it to turn it! Good good stuff.

That first photo, however, doesn't do it justice. I realize you wanted to highlight the details- the book, the individuals, the guy with the NMM-like laser halberd... I think your spoiler'd pic would have been the best for that- It must have been difficult (read- nigh-on impossible) to capture all the elements working with a single angle...

Kudos, man! Not cuz I know you, but that one impressed me on scale and attempt. The grot-entry was particularly clean, as was the "high ground" (I have my money this one probably took the win home?) but yea, scale wise and quality, this one all the way.
