That's rare, only one in million maybe is lucky enough to kill him. Same with SPARTANS, how many of them were killed by those small Covenant xenos?
200 Dark Angels were killed by Cultists in a single engagement on Vraks.
They were killed by cultists with big guns....besides The DKoK there took huge losses as well, there weren't a group of random chaos worshipers, they had so many Anti-life weapons....

Yeah, it would basically be equivilant to a force of Spartans getting stuck under the gaze of some heavy artillery batteries. Or having a nuke dropped on their heads.

There could be, I dont know, I dont remember every single book I read if it has a scene like this or not. Im just going of we know it must be phyiscally possible or SMs would simply auto win against IG and Tau in CC. Ya its TT so its need to be taken with a grain of salt but it must be somewhat possible. But this is getting away from the point I was making in the first place. My point was, I am sure it is possible, that if you hit a marine in the right spot you can kill him. Why the hell are you arguring that marines are phyiscally immune to anything that isnt an Ork or stronger.
I never said they were equal without a doubt. I said that marines and spartans are either equal in strength or marines are slightly stronger. Im sure they are close enough that if there is a difference, it would only make a slight difference in a fight.
It is possible for them to kill Marines in close combat... With their close combat weapons. Bare hands? It is decidedly much less possible, and have never been done that I can recall.
Why only slightly stronger?

That is true.... doesn't matter how big the Boom is, so long as it kills the same number of enemy or more. But to be fair Halo is the only game where i can kill a tank with a handgun by shooting it in the tracks....

In order to confirm this myself: Ninjacommando wrote: In another BL book a space marine (unnamed or named I do not know), is seen picking up a Imperium MBT and throwing it. Seeing as it probably leman russ which weighs 60 metric tons that puts the strength of a SM pretty dang high I asked a friend in our 40k Facebook group to find my this example from fluff - and he did: "Found out today that this text is from a book with thousand sons, in it. It was Magnus the Red who through the leman russ tank at Leman Russ himself during the sundering of prospero." I am just curious about one thing: did Leman Russ tanks existed back then? In any way, this would be perfectly logical because I have no doubt that Primarch could do this kind of thing.

In the game abstraction, perhaps, not in "fluff reality", and not unarmed.

Id have to agree with this. Many things are made for in-game balance. IIRC there was a guote about two or three marines single-handedly killing hundreds of orks in the fluff.

Which is always with lasguns set to their highest power setting(IE: Hotshot lasguns)
Most lasguns don't have a variable power setting, but some do. And Abnett's corner of the Galaxy has variable power settings.

The only marine I can recall them killing is the Chaos Space Marine in First and Only. In which he is described as a killing machine shrugging off an enormous amount of fire and Gaunt gets lucky as he says so himself and gets his chainsword onto him where it bites then catches into the armour, bites into the marine, and Gaunt is then thrown back. The Marine is then felled by a flurry of sniper fire and maximum power lasgun fire from a large amount of imperial guardsmen. And even then Gaunt says it was a close call.
P.S in Salvations reach they're are 3 loyalist marines who spear head the assault onto the ship and they pretty much cut through swathes of enemy troops and fortifications.

What i want to know is who would win if one spartan and one space marine where locked in a room in normal people clothes. Who would win? and what if it where John (Master Chief) vs. a space marine hero (i.e. draigo, calgar, lysander). Also no psychic powers by space marines.
Master Chief would win. Not because he's the better fighter but because i feel he has more plot armor than any individual hero of 40k lore.
In realistic terms i honestly couldn't imagine him beating draigo ever in a million years even if there are no weapons. I know you said no armor or weapons but the merest touch by draigo would explode master chief into a million tiny pieces. Saying no psychic power use for draigo would be super hard since grey knights are psychic marines and grand masters and such use psychic powers like normal people use their arms and legs. I mean can his touch be psychically powered? Meh even still he's faced down an infinite horde of enemies and could do so with physical strength. Master chief is cool and all but he's not that strong in comparison to a space marine that has gone through that much. Meh all this talk is making me want to play the 'space marine' video game again. Hmmm i think i will actually.

While the Chief does have some nice Plot Armor, it's got nothing on 40k.
Grimaldus had a Cathedral dropped on his head. And we are talking a 40k cathedral here. Think a typical Gothic cathedral in europe, just 100 times bigger. Not only did he survive, but he crawled out of the rubble by himself.
Mephiston has a similar deal, got a Cathedral dropped on his head and overcame the Red Thirst.
Draigo. He fething burned down Nurgle's garden! In the Warp.

What everyone has to realise is this:
1 Spartans are from 2552
2 Marines are from the 41st millenium
3 It will be a draw because if marines won GW= sued and if Spartens won Bungie/343=sued
You get what I am saying?
edit: also marines like to where no helmet wich mean this:
How to kil a marine!
Step 1) Grab your DMR/Battle rifle/ OP fist!
Step 2) Aim for head!
Step 3) Don't miss!
Well done space marine seargent, your obsession with trying to look awsome cost you your life
