@ Gitz, Ynead and Anu thank you for the compliments.
@ Cam, very kind words my friend, humbled that you feel my work is that good.

Here is my next project, trying my hand at converting a demon prince that I picked up from a local gamer. Took parts from a plaguedrone, then used some green stuff to build his bloated gut and some fill around the wings and neck.

Great job on Prince.

Ahh look, he has a pet tribble.

Nah seriously, the base is good. Nice desolate look to it.
One thing (you did ask ); you have a few large grey rocks, and some brown textures on the brown base. I'd maybe add some smaller grey rocks/pebbles to make the few already there less isolated.
You could just paint up some of the brown textured bits as rocks, or add some.
Those textured bits could maybe be picked out a bit more (may be the photo), they are almost indistinguishable from the base brown. Either a dry-brush with light brown / "bone" (if they are dried mud), or a couple of stages of grey DB if they are embedded rocks.

The prince is nicely disgusting- which in this case I think means he came out really well! The base is interesting- nicely done dusty/desert look.

That looks horrifying. In the best way of course. Of course. I’m totally NOT imagining that time that a live fly flew down my throat and I threw up through my nose. Not imagining that at all.
Well done. Very well done.

I think he looks fantastic Yorkright. If I might, I'd suggest a bit of pale green tufts or static grass near the edges of the base (perhaps furthest away from the demon) just to reflect the color of the model... If you don't have any, I have lots of different basing materials & probably have something that would work.

@ Dr H, I will see about getting a few more smaller rocks or paint the ground. The base itself is some of GWs technical paint and I should be able to highlight some of it with a light dry brush of bone. Love the tribble comment, has been quite awhile since I have thought about that episode of Star trek.
@ Meer, thank you sir!
@Anpu-adom I may have some bad dreams after your story about the fly...
@Cam glad you approve of the grossness, that was what I was going for.
@ Gitz I dont have any pale green tufts or grass at the moment may have to hit the hobby store.

I am a bit burnt out on Nurgle for the moment, have one more foetid blight drone to put together, going to dig thru my small store of unfinished models and see what inspires me.

Nice work Yorkright! That Plague Drone head fits perfectly no idea they were so big!

I'll second what people have said about perhaps adding a few more rocks to break up the sizeable base a little, and some lighter drybrushing would work well if you're looking to take it a level up looks good as-is though...

Also, I'd love to see someone make a 40k-ified Tribble. Something like the WigWigs from the Deepwoods I'm imagining...

Either that or completely as-is...but definitely some form of Slaaneshi plot...

Dry brushed the base with ushtabi bone and painted some pebbles. Not sure if it comes across as small stones or fly droppings. The photos look a bit washed out.

Thanks all for the helpful hints, I may go back and do some drybrushing on the rest of the DG. Here is a an allied force I may run with Mortarion and his boys. It’s small force of CSM, going to use the casters to warp time Morty into CC first turn, then follow up with the rest of the army.

Thanks all for the kind words, the demon princes are one of my favorite models to convert. I have 3 more and will post some pics when I get a chance. Recently I started work on the Praetor from the Calth box, he will be joining my Heresy era Blood Angels. Here is a few WIP paint pictures.
