Love that sump pool, the variation in the colour is great. You have a good eye for the colours in there.
And yeah, 3 Aggressors is a min-size squad, I think you can count that!

Thanks, 3 man aggressors for my April unit it is!
So with the plan to do some more Howling Griffons this month, I got some red and yellow contrast paint and tried it out:
Not great, oh well I can easily use the colours for lights instead...
No short cuts for me this week:
Wazdakka Red, Averland Sunset, Eshin grey, some Leadbelcher and then an Agrax Earthshade wash.
Plan is to layer up with the base colours and then brightenil it with Evil Sunz Scarlet and another yellow, before adding some edge highlights...
Also started working on a double height door:
The green stuff has not worked very well as a filler so will be changing that for some sprue slurry...
The door frame has been trimmed to fit and a topper from the double wall piece fits almost perfect with my arrangement
Plan is to build a double high wall to go with it but I'm looking for ways to save pillar bits...

Glad I came by this blog, looks to be a lot of cool stuff going on. Will have to have a proper read through from the start when I get some more time.
Good start on the aggressors, nice solid base to work from. You definitely made a good choice going with the non contrast route.

Even better, it's a great look for a simple technique! The Howling Griffons look good, I always fancied painting them up after I saw them in an old WD. I've zero experience with contrast paints so I have no idea, is the yellow a little too thick?
Door looks cool too!

Yep, the traditional paints look to be the right choice! Already the aggressors look very nice and grim dark, that’ll be the magic of Agrax!

CB is spot on, might feel like you've not done much but if you're feeling utterly demotivated, getting even a wee bit done is a big win. It's easy to sack the lot off entirely
By the way, virtual painting night is such a good idea CB!

Picking away at stuff yesterday:
Putting some tents together, idea being for Ash Wastes.
A bit of filing and cutting was required to have fabric walls for the big tent
Also put some bits together for another elevated crane:
This time its going on a ZM tower, that I can hopefully stack on another tower later for extra hieght.
I noticed that the crane base sort of fits diagonally over a ZM pillar so I cut off the remaining bits (badly)
Plan is to add some garden wire cables and a control point...
Started work on some Outcasts...
These guys have been on my desk for a while, slowly being added to in an attempt to get Underhive Civilians...
Well I noticed that I had some spare Van Saar bits while trying to find empty hands:
Tada! A Van Saar bounty hunter. Much civilian...
We got a worker with a rocksaw:
Obviously part of a clean up or maintenance crew removing obstructing debris
We got a man with a mug:
I'm tentatively calling him Mugsy Balone... Could be a barman or patron, maybe even a shift manager...
Penultimatly we have an Underhive doctor of some sort...
And finally from me I picked up my copy of Ash Wastes today on the way to the cinema to watch Doctor Strange and the Mountain Multiverse of Madness.
It's a very heavy box and while walking I nearly kneecapped my self with a swinging corner.
Got it home now so smelling all the new plastic goodness and starting building stuff already...
Some thing weird that I noticed however is the Outrider -- uh -- rider is significantly larger than a standard Orlock, but their heads and shoulder pads look compatible...
As for the rules, I don't really care, probably just going to scan through them for fluff and pretty pictures...

Napoleonics gamers have long had the idea of 'eye candy' on the table: non-playing units that are there simply for the look and because they are fun to build and paint- like commissariat, encampment, sutlers, etc. I've long held that Warhammer should have these as well; if nothing lese they are sight blocking (at least until the multi-melta hits 'em). Nice looking crew you've put together.

Thanks, the blue is Temple Guard Blue and Agrax wash, mixed with Clestra Grey for the fabric and straight for the armour
So playing around with fitting the AW (ash wastes) hab units this week:
The tall platform set up is two ZM platforms high, which means one SecMech platform tall.
It can also be built one ZM platform high:
The hab unit is about one ZM platform high, give or take a few mm...
The hab unit itself fits neatly inside a 3x3 ZM tile thing, forgot to show a pick, but the AW pillar does not go on top the ZM tiles very neatly.
I've since built both the Outrider quads and put some base layers on them and I don't like them.
Sure they look cool, but whoever designed how they were assembled needs to share a cell with the person who did the Stronghold walls.
The only point of contact between the riders legs and torso is literally their belt buckle.
A lot of the bits in the quad are small and easy to break and you have to paint before assembling.
On the plus side the gun mount can rotate or be removed

Looks like the ash wasted terrain will be a good match for the rest of the Necromunda stuff. Good luck meshing it all together! Good to see that the airlocks won’t go to waste and will expand the Ad Mech influence

Haha yeah, but it does reduce the number of "proper" Skitarii
Anyways the first thing up this week is a present from my partner:
Some weird altars...
My partner keeps threatening to start up a D&D campaign and *shudders* invite people into the house so I suspect more similar gifts in the future.
I just straight up copied my Blackstone necrons scheme and added a glow to one of them for a swappable active one
I had a few hours to my self and plenty of nice weather so used the opportunity to get some stuff spray primed:
Used up two cans of primer but now I have one less excuse not to start painting terrain...
Started on this guy a while ago:
Not sold on his green outfit, definitely sold on the red bike though...
For some reason the Agrax Earthshade wash came up very glossy on this one, probably because I was more liberal with it than normal...
This guy also has the honour of being my test ash wastes base. It's Astrogranite painted over with Clestra grey and then Skeleton Horde contrast.
Got a very handy spreader and tutorial in this month's Imperium Magazine...
Plan is to drybrush with some cream later, probably pallid flesh.
I also plan to use this method on the legs of the AW hab units...
The Outrider Quads are getting there:
Done the wheels black to start with then added the Contrast White, which matches Clestra grey nicely, and then some Skeleton Horde. Again plan is a drybrush to finish it...
My ash wastes Skitarii gets some friends:
Now I have an idea of what to do, these guys were a bit easier and neater.
No idea what their guns are or do, just went with what looks cool.
I spotted a Forge World scheme in one of this months Imperium Magazine, black robes/coats, red armour and grey undersuit as well as being considered dodgy by other AdMech Forge Worlds, sounds perfect...
They may be joined by a grungy Kataphron later as their "brute"
Lastly built up another regular Orlock with the intention of having a guy with harpoon launcher...
Good job I never get distracted halfway through anything...
Super easy conversion really, just trimmed a few bits off the spare heavy bolter from the quad and fitted it as if it were the regular heavy weapon choice...
Till next time!

Love the ash wastes Skitarii, that Orlock kit looks good with the vanguard helmets.
I quite like the green on the biker, it's a nice contrast from the bike. The red bike looks excellent, great weathering!
