Just something I was pondering: if you had Fateweaver who happened to be allied with Blood Angels during a match, and he was within 6" of some Termies with a Sang. Priest, how horrific would a 2+ re-rollable save with 4+ FnP bonus be? A 1/72 chance of failing an armour save absolutely stuns me. What does Dakka think about this?

Fateweaver's Reroll ability is a passive buff that just gets applied to whomever is within the 6" range, like the Deathwing Standard. It's what makes a fatecrusher army so awesome.
Also, consider a Dark Eldar Lord with Shadow Field and three pain tokens under Fateweaver's effect.

That's why you just shoot the piss out of Fateweaver instead of the termi's for a turn. Or just hit the termi's with Demolisher cannons or plasma weapons and not worry about it.

Thats actually not quite right Dash it's a recomendation that they do not count, however they are generaly defined as friend or foe or similar

Solve it by the laws of fluff-would sanguine priests/ BA terminators hang out with Fateweaver? No. Dark Eldar? Nope, even though both armies are "evil," Eldar of all kinds hate Chaos (I believe, even if it's mostly a hatred of Slaanesh). Now, I do feel that Chaos Space Marines should at least benefit from his rule, the FAQ be damned. I haven't read it, so in my circle of friends...unless somebody else has, it doesn't exist

That's been the rule for quite some time, and only refers to your opponent's wargear.
I'm not sure what bearing it has on allies. Automatically Appended Next Post: jdjamesdean@mail.com wrote:they're a rogue new to chaos Blood angel Company tada its fluffy and so soft!

But in my fluff it wouldn't be the voice of sanguinius granting the ability, it would be the Chaos Thing of Ultimate Badness.

pics or it didn't happen the faq is loose on this at best. It even said its a recomendation. However in an A vs B apoc game side A are allies where B is the opposition, so I would have to say in that case they would stack unless they were specific to say only SM can gain X or only Daemons within 12" can gain Y Automatically Appended Next Post: yes Monster Rain, that's what I'm talking about

40kFaq wrote:Q: Am I able to gain the benefits of any of my opponent’s
wargear or special rules, such as Teleport Homers, Chaos
Icons, Tyranid Synapse, Necron Resurrection Orbs etc?
A: In most occasions this is clear, as the rules use the
words ‘friendly’ or ‘own’ to indicate your units, and ‘enemy’
for the opponent’s. On the other hand, some rules clearly
specify that they affect ‘friend and foe’. A few rules are,
however, slightly ambiguous as they don’t clearly specify
this distinction. As a general principle, we recommend that
you cannot use or gain the benefits from any of the
wargear or special rules of your opponent’s army, unless
specifically stated in the rule itself (‘friend or foe’) or in an
official FAQ.
Since it's free on the internet and sourced, I don't see why this should be a problem.
