hello everyone out there in cyberland! I require some minor assistance, I loooove fielding kommandos (with snikrot) and i already have a kommando w/a GS cloak and kit bashed burna (rokkit launcha with chopped off the rocket part, and replaced with an exhaust vent from a warbike) but i also need 13 more normal guys and snickrot. any ideas for producing a beautifull and sneaky group?

take the big shoota model from the lootas kit and give him and his ammo grot a ghillie suit.

I always thought it would be funny to model them with alot of ultra marine parts on them like they are trying to blend in.

Perhaps a helmet on top of one of their heads like it doesnt fit but theyre trying to get away with it anyway

I made mine with backpacks from big shoota models and other assorted bitz. In particular I used several stikkbomb arms from the Stormboyz frames.

Otherwise, they're just choppa boyz. Choppa boyz with backpacks and the odd stickbomb.

Ghillie suits. Make some from granny grating, it works well.

hmmmm I like the SM "Blend in boyz!" idea lol. The ghillie suits would work as well. Im just trying to debate funny or realsitic?

If you like comedy models, you can have a lot of fun with silly camouflage.

Otherwise, ghillie suits as suggested above, or simply well-painted camouflage patterns on their clothes - kommandoes are supposedly amongst the minority of orks who actually understand the concept of camouflage and hiding. Kommandoes are more likely to be Blood Axes (or at least have more contact with the Imperium) so it's also a good excuse to give them lots of looted IG/marine equipment.

haha okay i think i like the silly idea. so I need to decide if i want all my looted vehicles, kommandos etc. to be focused aggainst I.G. Or the SM or both?

Just wanted to add, a single 'Solid Snake-bite' Ork in a orange box is entirely neccesary.

Hmmm, in all honesty, I think what would be a cool idea would be to GS some Tanith-style stealth cloaks, with nightvision goggles and stuff. A more serious take one it, but I think it'd look gakking sweet.

Exactly what I thought. Here's one a I painted a couple of weeks ago (yes I'm aware I'm not a great painter)

How about getting the front pic of a marine.. and have the ork hold it like a riot shield...
make one where you got a Big orange cone with the top knot hair braid sticking out.
Make one in a trash can with the lid open a little bit and his arm sticking out. with a gun.
Have one wear a necron chest piece and have a paper mask of a necron face

and Omg i gotta buy a box of boys now :( to make kommandos and i dont play orks any more.

I've seen this done, possibly here on Dakka Dakka, it's where I got the idea. I've just not got round to doing the other Kommando conversions yet. But I'd really love to see what other ideas people come up with.

If you want funny, there's two ideas: orks in hiding (ammo crates and barrels with feet & orky hands sticking out) or inappropriate camo schemes. An ork's idea of camouflage may not be quite as subtle as they think it is...

Try one painted fluorescent pink with a squad of well- camoflaged ones looking around like "where'd everybody go??

Mind you the pictures are from before I knew how to light photos.

Actually to day I just made two commandos with ghillie suits. It's not that hard you don't even need torsos or legs. You just stick the arms on a cross made of sprue, cover the sprue in a rough body shape of green stuff, add a head, then just use little sausages of green stuff all over.
Voilà!! Cheap kommandos!!
