What you're looking at is a 'Chaos Daemon' sprue. The pencil is pointing to some type of collar/armor/idunno. On the left, this mystery piece is still on the sprue, whereas the piece on the right has been separated (I bought two of these critters).

Where exactly does this piece go?

It doesn't seem to fit on the torso, upper back and the box's illustrations don't show it. In the instructions, the only indication is on the famtasy daemon's page, where the piece is just under the tail and next to a spike, but no sign of where it goes.

Would it not strap across his thigh like his other bizarre armour pieces?

I personally did not use that piece on my model, but I thought it was a armor plate for the upper thigh.

Pretty sure it's armor for his abs.

Looks like shoulder armour to me.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Ifalna & Flightmek, it's too wide for a single limb, thus not shoulder or leg armor. Also, it has a double 'u' fit on both ends, making me think it was Abs to the legs, like you've stated, Ouze.

But it doesn't actually fit. It is wide enough in its inner diameter for the torso, but neither does it fit on the back, shoulders nor abs.

Anyone care to post who *has* put it on their model?

It's a shoulderpad, as seen here with an extra horn accessory:

It's cummerbund, not cumberbund.

A cumberbund equates to The League of Extraordinary Cucumbers.

Nice find. I didn't say so, but I also just got a DP a few days ago, and this morning was wondering wtf that extra horn was for, so you got a twofer.

That is the third daemon on the box, smaller pic though. The horn sticking out of it threw me off. Thanks MechaE7k. Mystery solved.

Apparently, it's both:

Perhaps a matter of your side of the pond and then the colonials.

Nice find, Mecha. Now we can all go back and fix our models!
