I had high hopes for this release, but so far only the Gits have caught my attention. I'm still mildly anxious to know what the new codex may bring but, in terms of new units, 7th edition orks are starting to look like a minor letdown in my eyes.
I don't know about you, but I have the strange feeling that GW may be hiding stuff from us in WD, until the codex is out.
Why would they resurrect those old big gunz without the special rules they were famous for?
I mean, from what I understand, one of those Big Gunz was kind of pulling on its target or something, right?
This is not at all in the WD, which simply gives S x, AP y, Blast ... but nothing very "weird"
Also, I'm wondering if GW's strategy here is just not building up its own Waaagh, slowly growing until we get an explosive codex ... or at least I'm hoping for this

There's 'special rules' there. The traktor is pretty neat.

but the three other are just a bit too "human" for me, apart for the fact we roll for AP and S
not saying they are bad though, I really like them (much more than the current ones!!)

Wops, slow down.
New codex? What new codex.
They are just playing with the old codex + WD rules.
If they were using the new codex, it would be going up for pre-order on Friday. Next Friday (20th) is where we have to hope we see it.

Bubblechuka is an example of GW not getting ork logic. "They can't take an armor save if they don't take a wound" isn't ork logic , it's troll logic .
Half joking aside it's a horrible weapon.

The Traktor Kannon is the best AA in the game. You can potentially destroy a flier with a glance now.
150 points for 5 and that's 20 T7 wounds, half of which with a 3+ save. Add 10 more for 30 points.
And yeah, the Bubblechuka is absolutely terrible.
The smash gun may be good. At it's worst, it is a S5 AP1 gun.

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k
If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.
Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

Smasha Gun is a decent weapon with our first AP1. I like the Traktor Kanon too, seems very orky and pretty useful at BS3.
However 30 points sound too much. 25 points should have been the way to go!

while I WISH you were right, you are not, WD states it rolls one dice for both STR and AP...
so high str means crap AP and good AP means crap str...

I like the smasha gun and traktor cannon. Also nice to see that regular kannons get a small point reduction. Hopefully we can still squad these up into batterys.
My main concern is we still dont have a reliable way of killing heavy vehicles outside of CC since the smasha gun has a variable str. Maybe the zzap gun rules will allow for some more AT

Going with the probabilities. The bubblecucka is really random. Average S 3/4 AP 3/4 large blast but could really be anything. Could be great could be the worst gun in the game. Only good thing is the large blast. I don't see any time where it would really make sense to take the Smasha Gun over the Kustom Mega-Kannon. Smasha gun is again very random and with BS4 one shot is more likely to miss. That said it is probably more likely to hit a tank but less likely to actually do any damage, if you hit, given the random strength. All round the Kustom Mega-Kannon is just better against tanks and troops! The Traktor Kannon though is the best AA gun in the game as others have said - disadvantage shooting at flyers only.

Little bit dissapointed with Bubblechukka, should be (S) D6+1 and ( AP) D6.
