It had that huge Ork fort, a studio scatch-built fighta bomba, and a Great Gargant. That and about 300,000,000 Orks and Praetorian Imperial Guard...

I've been looking for pics of it online and I only was able to find one GW page with about 8 or so pics. They weren't very good, either. Kinda small and lacking detail.
So, I know I have the White Dwarf(s) that featured the Ork's Drift content, but I can't find them. Plus, I have about 200 White Dwarfs, so I don't want to search through them all looking for the pics.
Can anyone find pics of the table? Maybe scan the WDs that had the table? At the very least, the WD issue number(s) so I can expedite my search through my archive?

Thanks!

Yeah. That's the page I mentioned finding already. The pics aren't very good, they're pretty small, and there's next to none of the scratch-built flyers or the Gargant.

That's the same as Big Tuff River no? I have some scans from WD218 which featured it but they're no better than the SoL images.

Oh! Hang on! I think it was Massacre at Big Toof River, not Ork's Drift...
White Dwarf 218. Perfect. Now I can narrow the search.

Thanks KK!

That would suck. I remember being a young lad when I first saw pictures of that and was just awestruck. I wanted to play Orks then and there but I was told they were worse then bad to play back then. Oh well. Very cool pictures anyways

Ork's drift was a separate article in a separate issue of WD. It was around the same time as Big toof -also in support of the Praetorian IG and the Gorkamorka styled orks- but it was a battle loosely based on the Rorkes drift.

I don't recall the issue number, but it's one of my all time favorites. Lots of interesting charachters and a great storyline.

Gah! Kind of a stupid choice for a "museum" to bin the earliest super-epic 40K displays.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

That article in WD218 is what inspired my love of both Orkz and Praetorians...

IIRC that was the next issue, I might have done a retro reivew of it too.

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

There's also a spread of the table in the 3rd edition Ork codex. Decent picture of the Gargant, but only a tiny one of the bomba. There's even a Baneblade!

It's true, some of the conversions went back to those who did them, and I believe some elements of the board were saved by an acquintance of a friend though I don't believe that amounted to much.
