I was reading a store copy of this little gem, and I like it, but twenty bucks is a little steep. What do you guys think? Is it worth the money? What about the munitions handbook? It's got some pretty 'cute' little references to things. Like how merciless commissars are from a commander's position

I thought it was pretty hilarious too, but over here where our mightly dollar is temporarily worth more than yours it costs sixty bucks!

Not so funny anymore!

I had the Uplifting Primer. I lost it though. Pity. Such a nice book.

I have the Departmento Munitorium manual. That's a fun book as well. I actually got to use it during a Dark Heresy game where the players wanted to get some stuff from a Guard quartermaster and didn't have the right forms. I was able to cite the exact rule and regulation (and punishment) that he (and they) would get if they did not complete the requisition forms correctly!

Yeah, that's the one!

It would actually be cheaper to have an american buy it and fly it over here!

Nah, he just sits around and signs pieces of toilet paper. Pft, some 'official'

And that sounds great HBMC Your avatar makes me think that you'd need it much more often than that :3

I have the earlier edition(2003, no tau in it at all). I love it; and have been thinking of getting the Damocles version.

The best part is the pink pages in the back full of quotes, prayers and litanies. If i am rolling poorly i will often recite either the litany or Prayer of Smiting or the litany of Accuracy.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

There's a ton of funny stuff in that primer.

The best might be the description of genestealers: "sluggish with blunt claws"

Propaganda much?

"Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things, and we shall do so again."
"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"

Yeah, the domacles gulf one is funny. It's page that say's "TAU EMPIRE" in big scary letters. Then they made it look like someone stuck a sticky note over the words and they wrote "stupid, simple and clumsy creatures that use stone age technology" or something. It's hilarious

It's a shame the old one isn't avalable anymore. It looks just as good, if not better

It's a neat read, but definitely an indulgence for the price. I felt that it was a little thin, although I have the first one as well.

The sample download PDF shows that some of the artwork is all pixelated and poor quality. It annoys me when GW produce images like that, it was simialr in the battle for armageddon fluff book with a lot of images looking hastily made and put in just to fill up space.

It's a fun thing, not a must have.

Will echo HMBC and say the Departmento manual is fun too.

On the fantasy side, there's the Witch-Hunter's handbook. The humour in it is more subtle, but a friend and I were considering doing a Saint Chicken empire crusading army

It's nice to have, while I don't own one my Dark Heresy character regularly states how incorrect it is due to him being a knowledge psycher.

Theyre good reads. Look online...you can usually find them for at least 13 bucks a pop.

I bought both and am glad I did, both are funny and if you're trying to write or find fluff they're quite good 'source' books.

I got the non-tau version.

It's good but glad I didn't spend the money on it.

I've been tempted by the munitions manual.
