I had a go at making a wire mesh fence (as shown in the GW terrain book). All in all its fairly straightforward to do - but its the first time i've had a go at terrain. I've put some step by step photos in my blog in case anyone else fancies having a go..... http://simonspaintingblogandstuff.blogspot.com/

Looks good, but I need my sifter. Anyone know of other places to get cheap mesh like that?

I like it; and the Daleks too; I seem to recall having seen some of them in the gallery at Warhammer World.

Or even cheaper, goto the dollar store and have a look around the kitchen isle. I loot all kinds of stuff from dollar stores. The stuff is weird as hell (being made in china) and best of all, its a buck.

Indeed this is a good tip. Also, 'little-girl' jewellery shops are a good source of cheap gems and chains. Although you can get some odd looks from other people as a burly big-ass bloke lingers around such a store.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

You can also use curtain netting/fly screening - stretch it out over a frame and "paint" it with PVA to stiffen it, let it dry, paint it silver and then cut it to shape.

You can also get firm aluminium flyscreen netting - about $10 a metre - so you only need a tiny amount. Available from hardware stores.

They appear to be the Black Tree Designs Daleks, available here

Additionally, Doctor Who Magazine (in the UK) put out a set of 5-6 plastic "New Model" Daleks in one of their issues. I have them and they rock.

Since there's no actual tutorial here, and the blog link is just a general front-page link rather than directly to anything related, I'm shifting this to the regular P&M board.
