So they are going to try and fix the horribly bad-ness that has been Toby Maguire?

So they still don't get that Spidey doesn't need to unmask every 3 minutes?

And for shame that it's not Pat Robertson.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

All I know is that any spiderman movie has got to be better than #3...

My favorite Marvel Character is finally introduced and he doesn't do anything. (Venom, for those of you wondering)

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Some useless trivia, Andrew Garfield popped up in an episode of Doctor Who once. He was in the one where the Daleks are in the Empire State Building and turning people into pigs. Also my ex-girlfriend went to school with him (she says he was a bit pretentious).

I'm kind of meh about this and a lot of superhero movies at the moment. There's just too many of them and to quote Syndrome in The Incredibles, "When everybody is super, no one will be." i.e. the novelty factor just isn't there anymore.

I think he certainly looks the part, Maguire seems incapable of showing emotion, this guy looks more like i would expect PP to look.

It cant be any worse than the last one.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Sigh, thats an all new suit design.... I hate it when people get on remake movies and redo things that were fine just or the sake of putting their own spin on it. It always seems like an ego thing to me.

Don't get me wrong, an update or revision is fine, I understand it needs some differentiation, but changing the lines of the suit into this future curve nano textured look isn't doing much for me.

Superman returns suit is a good example of my feelings. Shrink shield? Sure. Make shield 3d? Why not? Darken reds and yellows? No problem. Put a fakking shield texture on every freaking surface, turn belt into shield repeated and make the soles of the boots chunky interlocking shields?? Too far now you're just being an ass. It wasn't broke, dont fix it.

The funky curve mega texture spiffy suit gives me the same feeling...

Plus you have to feel sorry for that guy in the Netherlands who spent two years painstakingly recreating the Tobey Maguire suit stitch for stitch.

I was assuming that this was/is his WW II costume, but the guys in the back look a bit too modern for that IMO.

I rather liked the 3 Toby M spiderman movies okay the 3rd one was less impressive going down the old Hollywood route of "hmmm what to do with the next one? I know double the number of heroes/villans and choose ones that have no discernable connection!".

Looking at that picture though I'm thinking that its going to be a navel gazing long fringe emo Spiderman probably with Vampires. There are Vampires in the spiderman mythos aren't there?

Also @ MajorTom11 - I understood almost none of that post. Is that all CGI/movie stuff you are talking about?

Jeez that looks like Bikini Atoll fusion bomb level suckiness. If it, Green Lantern, and Thor come out in the same year a black hole is going to open up and suck us all in as the universe invokes a quaratine policy to save the rest of the galaxy.

I'm liking the Captain America costume. It looks like something you'd actually wear (like the X-men costumes in the films - although apparently the actors still had trouble moving in those).

Only in the darkest, nastiest of fetish websites would you find them, but yea

I just want to know, why the hell is Chris Evans ALWAYS a "super" powered person?

Wait, am I detecting a level of ire towards Chris Evans? I find him quite watchable, particularly in good films...

...of which I can only think of one (Sunshine).

Think of the money you'll save ! I think Green Lantern is looking alright, I was a bit worried about Sinestro but they seem to have done alright to my eyes

Thats what I tell the wife. I have no fear of a death. Its just an end to paying bills.

Is that Sinestro above? I feel like pulling a Beavis and Butthead and saying "he he he's looks like a dillweed he he" As Yoda would say "Scary not he be, NEWB!"

Death and taxes eh ?

T'is indeed Sinestro.

I like the glowing effect on the lantern insignia on the chests.

Fraz, I think you just need to accept that in a superhero film, the hero probably has to wear some kind of brightly-colored costume. Cap in black armor like Bale's Batman might look cooler, but then our colors are the red, white and blue and not the black, white and blue or whatever.

Despite years of skepticism about a Cap movie, I'm getting cautiously optimistic about it. I have a feeling it won't be quite what I'd like to see it be, but it's headed down the right path. GL...well, I'm optimistic and yet the cosmic aspects of that character give me a little pause.

I thought the first two spiderman films were good, second one in particular. I don't really see the point of remaking something which came out less than ten years ago.

The suit looks fine. But then it was never really going to be the making or breaking of this film for me.

I agree, the first 2 Spiderman movies were good, specially the first one, the 2nd started to veer a little into the uhoh area but still good. The 3rd, makes my brain hurt, and sometimes I want to punish my eyes for allowing me to have seen it
