Right behind you. No, really.

When do you think the new Tau will drop?
I think early 2012.
Has GW hinted anything about this?

@juraigamer-I was looking for when the new codex will come out, not what will be in it.

Late 2012

Its going to have a new stealth suit,
a new kind of crisis suit that will suck.
Target Drones will no longer allow you the option to ignore priority tests.
Stealth suits will get a little bump
A few new tricks for the tanks
Broadside might get bumped a bit better. Like other weapon options
Some new Wargear

Other than that I cannot think of what they would do to it.

Maybe something that allows Tau troopers to ignore cover saves (Think Marker light does it, not sure, but it's pretty expensive). Puts a little more oomf back into their shooting. Also, given the power creep, maybe either BS4, AP4 basic guns, or both. Piranhas might also be made into troops, or at least allowed to cap objectives. Actual, useful Ethereals and maybe Honor Guards as a separate, elite alternative to Battlesuits (kinda like SM Sternguard). Possibly new Vespid units (there are some potential there) and of course Flyers (barracuda possibly).

You just made my life a little sadder.

Considering the codex creep... I really hope they make the Tau codex completely OP. I hope the paradox of duality becomes an area of effect 2+ cover save... and so on.

I think the biggest change would be in points.
Almost everything in that book is too expensive. Things like Devilfish, stealthsuits, vespids, pathfinders will all get a point drop (some more than others).
I think they will redo the sky ray to be more like artillery, or keep it as is, and increase missile capacity.
They will probably adjust markerlights some.
Ethreals will probably become not useless (FNP firewarriors anyone?)
Vespids will probably actually be worthwhile in combat, or at least not drop dead at a mean look.

Some things that will be changed for the worse or nerf'd:
Crisis suits
Battlesuit upgrades
Disruption pods
Possibly markerlights (in depends on the writers mood I think)

This is all just speculation, and what came out of my head. I would love if everything up top came true, and nothing from the bottom. Hey a guy can dream can't he?!

Having no other ideas on how to improve them, GW will increase the railgun's strength to 11.

I actually can see Ethereals granting FnP, given how liberal it's given out nowadays. Hopefully Vespids get some PW or at least rending in some form (maybe the gun they're using can cut through armor in close combat like Burnas?). Given the Power creep, there's probably not going to be alot of nerfs, mostly point decreases.

I am one of the editors that works on the codex that comes out for each army. I heard some of the writers talking and it looks like that is the idea so far but they have not started on it. They are in the middle of writing the new Necron Codex and from the sounds of their enthusiastic talk. It is going to be including a bunch of new models that Necron Players have never seen and some OP stuff. But that is all I can tell you for now. The next codex is almost finished and within a few weeks it should reach me and my managers office for all of us to start reviewing it for word problems.

Actually, I think only the other Dave took him seriously.

Nonetheless, this still doesn't involve Tau Speculation. I wonder if Shadowsun's Stealth Suit will now become standard issue in the next Codex?

I honestly wouldnt be surprised if XV22 suits become an alternate Commander option in the next codex, or if it completely replaces the Crisis Commander. I started tau mainly because I loved them so much in DoW, especially the XV22 that O'Kais wore.
