If you made it to DakkaCon this past weekend, and want to share your pics, please post 'em here . For those who want to see what the format was, it's posted over here.

Basically, we had a mini-campaign for fantasy in the morning, one for 40k in the afternoon, a speed-painting contest (using zombies donated by Mantic, who had a rep there!), and a paint-a-bret contest (where people had painted one ahead of time and brought it with them) along with a lot of open gaming.

Sadly, my camera never left my pocket (or the side compartment of the car door) the entire time :( I will agree with you though; my army looked pretty sharp

Great times with everyone! The Dakkites in attendance were a singularly excellent group. The main problem I had all weekend (other than getting my teeth kicked in every game) was that there were too many cool people to talk to about too many cool things, and I always felt like I was missing out. Consider I am a serious hermit who generally does not enjoy talking with other humans, especially new ones, and understand how happy I was to get to meet all of you!

I didn't take nearly as many photos as I had wanted to. I ended up getting far too caught up with playing games and chatting with everyone!

I'm really happy folks had such a good time throughout the day. It was a lot of fun just hanging out with people and putting faces to names at long last. Next time though, we DEFINITELY need to get name tags! I ended up playing games against folks never actually knowing who they were only to end up having dinner later and finding out who they were!

Hopefully we get to do this again and more folks are able to make it out.

As for photos, all I have are some quick shots I took of my Space Wolves getting prepared to be rolled!

Wow, your picture-taking skills are spot-on! Those space wolves look nearly as good as they did in person... unlike any of Boss_Salvage's pics that I have seen potsed on this forum (his army / conversions were amazing in person, though!)

I had a fantastic time with the fantasy Dakkanauts... but agree about the nametags! It was manageable in the morning with the ~10 or so of us doing the fantasy campaign, but once the 40k one started I lost all track of who else was who... even when Kid_Kyoto showed up with an "I <3 NY" shirt on, and none of us recognized who he was for at least 30 minutes!

Also... did anyone manage to make a decent "got dakka?" button with the button-maker? I didn't see any... next time I'll invest a little more in it (it was only $7 or so).

Damn that looked like alot of fun. Im going to have to try and make it next time, hopefully itll be closer

There used to be a collection of "official" Dakka buttons(one of which I believe was "Got Dakka?", IIRC) that they used to hand out at Games Days back when the store still existed. I still have my "Vengeance is Mandatory" one somewhere.

I'll definitely take the time to make it to Dakkacon 2012 if it happens. Wish I could have made the first one, but Botcon is a bit more of a priority this year.

Yeah, I was hoping to make this last one, but had tickets to something else last weekend.

I'd come for the BBQ alone, playing with army men would just be a bonus.

Also, I feel there needs to be "rivalry" challenges, so I call out Alpharius! My Platuan 4th Mechanized Infantry vs his Alpha Legion! Themed game over a Knight Paladin objective.

Good grief, now I have to paint up two old armorcast titans!

Looks like fun! Wish I could have made it but there is about 3,000 miles or so of land between us!

No fair, I misssed these. Great looking army!!!!

Mikhaila, Kid_Kyoto, and Jin have all hinted at posting photos this evening... however, my thinking is that some or all of them are still being affected by the post-con alchohol consumption (or at least the staying out until the single digit hours to consume it!) and are a bit sluggish because of it

Grudge matches are the best... I'd love to watch a Platuan4th vs. Alpharius showdown! The SwapMod grudge match that took place at this one got a lot of people watching (and cheering me on... or was that Jin? ) and it adds an extra edge to the game

It sounds like the one in the fall will definitely have apocalypse, so get those behemoths ready! Mike let me know he's hammering out a schedule of events for the rest of the year, so probably after he's done with his GT this month we can find out a date when his store will be ready for Dakkanauts to descend on it en masse again

Sweet pics! In hindsight, I realized I was so busy playing that I completely forgot to try the chili / squig stew . Heard it was good...

Also, nice "exit shot" of the Bunker... it looks so quiet and lonely...

I also take back all of my pot-shots about Boss_Salvage's pic-taking skills. Your previous sneak peaks of your WIP models had me thinking you did not know how to operate a camera, despite your amazing conversions. I stand corrected

It was also funny seeing the delayed reaction of people when they met someone. "Oh, hi..." a few minutes later: "Oh, you're _____! Hi!!" Funny how lots of people didn't match my mental image of them, but I have to say, Salvage with the forked goatee did not disappoint

I still kind of chuckle at the mental gymnastics everyone was going through trying to remember the combinations of Face/Handle/Real name/Army. Everyone was referring to everyone else by like 2 of the 4, trying for a 3rd periodically only to fail terribly. Good times
