No bug updates but a host of strange things, what on earth are cloth blocks? when was herobrine IN the game? what is this new bonemeal use?
What do you mean what are cloth blocks? You've used them yourself. That red wool carpet. The new bonemeal use is to create tall grass or flowers in grass blocks. So basically you can farm flowers now.

You can get wool blocks directly from sheep or make it out of string (although I have no idea why someone would waste string to get blocks). The update changes the requirement from 9 string to 4.

It will take a while to mine all the Iron and gold etc, but the Railway base and supports is complete; any extensions I can take care of as long as I have a good
supply of Cobblestone. 
well, it'll probably take around 4 stacks of iron to make.
I might speed up the process seeing as I have three stacks of rails, but seeing as portal jumping is a lot quicker I'd prefer to donate it towards a brandywine-side roller coaster.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

Not in SMP at least. It LOOKS like you can make it out of four string, but it doesnt' let you. But it DOES let you make wool blocks out of nine string, despite it not looking like it does. Notch failed.

Eh. It happens. Just work on replacing the lost iron, logs, and bonemeal (sorry, I meant it as a stack of bonemeal, not bones in chat) that I mentioned to you.
Should be ~34 ingots (full set of iron armor, two picks, compass), two stacks of logs, and a stack of bonemeal.

I volunteer for the materials supply.
I am going through an important period of exams right now, but after friday, I should have some more time to play MC. But I want the railway to cover all the distance between my new house (still in construction, not far from wolf's house) and brandywine. I could really use a railway between those two locations. Traveling on foot between brandywine and wolf's takes ages!

I certainly don't think it's lame. It has plenty of flat area to build on, it's huge, has lots of different biomes, lots of resources, etc.

Flat is AWESOME.
Besides, there's plenty of mountains, you just need to travel a bit away. I have a huge mountain that's practically an ant's nest of natural caves and tunnels, myself. Walled off too.

Flat is LAME
It's like basic windows wallpaper. Its easy to work with but really uninteresting.

Whenever I try to get into the Dakka server, I get a 'Connection Error: End of Stream" screen. I have no idea how to fix this, despite multiple trips through Google.

If you don't like it, then don't play it. Complaining about the server's flatness and saying it's "lame" can be considered as trolling and will not only put the entire MC dakka community against you but also get you banned from the server.
