Ok, I haven't done much math on it yet, but I am sort of liking the looks of the SMS devilfish.
It runs about 120 pts for a bs 4 devilfish with 7 S5AP5 shots, versus 95 points otherwise. Assuming you're taking the multitracker, which I tend to think is a must in a mechanized army - otherwise people will ignore the bloody things once they're empty.
It looks to me like I can basically drop 2 fire warriors from every squad (dropping down to 8) and take the bonus from my crisis suits getting cheaper to add a whole ton of firepower. In my 2000 pt list I'm dropping 6 fire warriors, and making one squad into pathfinders, in order to add 16 S5Ap5 shots that can shoot from 24" over and around terrain. This allows me to, if I choose, play Vp denial with the devilfish as well which sounds nice.
Anyone done much thinking on it? Does it make them simply too valuable for your opponent to ignore, or too dangerous, or both?
