Hi, I was looking to scratch build a Thunderhawk, but I've been having a little trouble re-creating the engines... I really like the look of the Forge World ones and I was wondering how other people have gone about making something similar? For those that don't feel like looking one up, here's what I'm talking about;

Thanks so much for your help!

The Valkyrie plastic kit should help, and maybe the new Stormraven too?

Should be available via the many, many bits suppliers out there...

*Smacks head!* Gaah I completely forgot about the Valk engines!
Does anyone have the detentions on some of those?

I don't have any of my Valkyries confined for misbehaving.

I presume you mean DiMENsions?

Detention is what you get for being the class cut-up.

Turbines are 112mm long, 22mm across.
Tapered cone for the exhaust. 13-14mm at the narrow end of the venturi.

You could also use the engine parts from an Ebayed StarWars pod racer.

See I was looking at pod racers, on both amazon and ebay the 'Anakin's pod racer 1/32 scale blah blah blah' were always like 20 bucks, i think 16 was the cheapest I found

And yes good sir, DIMENSIONS was what I was aiming for, thank you

I'm going to be using spare intake fans from a Robogear model (a bit over an inch overall diameter) with some spare permanent marker caps (Artline 70) for the exhaust ends. The bulk of the engine will be balsawood.

I'm not building them for a T-hawk, though, but a Storm raven (that will not be anywhere near as silly looking as the GW one).

A new day, a new time zone.

I'll point out that the picture in the OP is the Thunderhawk Transporter. The standard SM Thunderhawk doesn't have the forward engines.
