Hay all.

Ok i got a box of orc warriors regiment that i have not started on yet but i am planning to build and play 40k orks army soon.

I was just going to just paint them and leave on the shelf but i would like to use them if i can.

So can just swap the weapons they would have for guns or is there more to it in order to use them in a proper game of 40k ?

Adding 40k Ork weapons is about all you should have to do to use them in 40k,perhaps paint them up as Snake Bites,and don't forget to add round bases.

Snake bites are just one of the many Ork clans. They aren't really one's for technology, preferring old fashioned things, which is why fantasy orcs would work well for them.

I have to say I agree, however they would also do fine as yoofs who cant afford any of the more fancy shiny bitz, armor, etc. Just give a rummage through the old bitzbox and see whatcha get.

If you are planning on getting some new ork boyz for a 40k army, you could always use the spare bits from them to make your fantasy orcs more suitable for 40k.

Yeah, you can take WHFB orks and put them on round bases, and voila! Sluggas!

Of course, if you want them to be more wysiwyg, then you'll want to craft some form of rudimentary hand guns in one hand.

That or use them as vehicle crews.

Good thing about assault for black reach is you can sell the space marines and other bits if you don't want on Ebay, they always sell well particularly the dreadnought. Then you can buy more boyz

Welli would like to buid up 2 armies so i am not always painting orks and also so that i can learn how to play the game with my m8 some times.

But i was going to do chaos vs orks not sure now

I bought a box of whfm orks and mixed the parts in with those of my 40k orks. it gives some variety with the boyz. with having sluggas and shootas in a boyz box, there are plenty of guns to go around!

Oh and I now have 8 burna boyz AND 8 lootas from just 2 boxes of Lootas and Burnas. . . .

Yeah, picking up a box of 40K Orks will give you more than enough weapons to go around, since they come with both shoota and slugga/choppa options. So you can just swap in the slugga arms on the WHFB Boyz.

I got the normal swords and axes but can they use spiked clubs or anything else that is one handed ?

Basically any CCW can be a "choppa",so all the swords,axes,etc from your WHFB Orcs can be used for your 40k Orks.

I actually go the other way soemtimes. I use 40k orks and remove the stikk bombs and sluggas and add in an extra choppa. Looks great.

I have a great conversion of the old warboss with squig and big choppa. Just had to take the chain ax head of the choppa and add a fantasy one.

Personally I love mixing Orc and Ork pieces for my 40k Orks. If you have a set of both Boyz you've got tons of customising possibilities. Black Orcs and Ork Nobz mix together well too (mostly their heads but trust me you can get at least two Black Orc bodies with Nobz weapons).

As people already said converting your Orcs to Orks is simplicity itself and perfectly acceptable. Just get a box of 40K boyz, make a squad of slugga boyz and then give the leftover shootas to your other orks. Now you got two for one

I do this all the time when it comes to some of the elite choices. I buy a box of Lootas and a box of boyz. This way i can make Both the Lootas and the burnas. And still have some orks left to make more boyz. This is an easy way to make your army grow. As far as weapons go, an ork uses anything for a choppa. wether its a rusty axe, a chainsword or just a sharp piece of metal ductaped to a stick. ( though the other boyz might laugh at that perticulair runt )

Im currently considering getting a box of black orcs to make into 'Ard boyz.
