Hi all, I was looking for some cool basing ideas lately and found a huge lack in our Warhammer Culture! So let's get that problem out off the world!
This thread was made to show off your coolest basing ideas ever. Models are allowed but make sure the focus isn't on them
I'll kick off with mine, a glowy swamp:

I found out that normal tea is great for adding variety to your sand, and Islandic (?) mos, wich is used to make dried wood or tree foliage in many cases, can be excellent small plants when you cut off all the excess long parts

Big scenic bases sure are fun to do, but can be time consuming

These are my (unfinished) bases from my mordheim zombie pirate gang, which is now more-or-less abandoned as no-one plays mordheim (in fact, since leaving university, I no longer have regular personal contact with ANYONE who plays ANY miniature wargames!)

Here's what you get when you play around with water effect and slate.

Gods I love slate. It's a pity that none of my local gaming stores stock it. Except GW of course but then I'd have to buy a box of miscellaneous other bits too and thats too expensive for a tub of pebbles... And I still have most of the other bits from the pack I bought last time.

I also go by the name of Vicard on Advanced Tau Tactica.

But I used to like doing mini-dioramas with my heavy weapons bases:

Woodland scenics clumpy foliage for trees, glued onto a foam shaper, sprayed black and then painted various colours. I've tried to do 2 highlights on the smoke, depending if it is shadowed or lit from above.

Forgot to put the static grass on it when I was at the FLGS this week, but here's my most recent and by far most extravagant basing to date. Note that the girl would be part of the basing as well.
