I've always wanted to make a Mega-Armoured Warboss, however I have no idea how to go about building the armor. It looks more complicated than just square blocks, and the fleshy bits will probably cause problems.

I have the Black Orcs kit from Fantasy, so I have a few extra beefy arms to use. I'm also gonna be using the metal head that comes on the set (the warboss dipped his face in liquid metal thinking it would make him cooler). I have an idea of how to build the Power Klaw and Shoota (carved sprues and drilled pen casings respectively). I do have a few tank parts (a butchered Leman Russ, some old rhinos, and pieces of a land raider) that I can use too, but my main problem is the legs and torso. Any suggestions?

I saw a conversion for a similar idea that used cut down Rhino treads for legs (like literally the Boss had tank treads for legs)... you could always do that?

They just used the two angled sides, and cut out the middle part, so they were taller than they were long, but it turned out pretty awesome.

The rhinos I ahve are the old ones, which have the treads molded onto them as one piece. =x

Oh noes :(

It's okay, I imagine tank treads for legs to be the 40k equivalent of being in a wheelchair, and I doubt Orks get very decent handicap benefit.

I did use the idea for my MotF. Fluff wise he got shot in the foot....by a titan. His entire harness is intergrated into his "wheelchair".

I used Tau stealth suits as the base for mine. It's technically a grot, but that's a matter of choosing a different head

Here he is:

There's WIP pics in the gallery if you're interested.

Legs were: the stealth suit's legs (which end near the 'knee of the warboss), plasticard tubing to lengen it towards the feet, and then plasticard feet with dread feet bitz added for the front. And pistons, of course, made from plasticard, to make it all look worky.

here's a pic that should make things clearer, and there's more WIP shots in the gallery!

good for parts at the very least.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
