Is it me or is 3 weeks a lot of time for maelstrom to ship my codex?
It seems a little too long for a book.
I come from Australia so it should take at least a week.

Considering its half store price and free shipping, no.

It took them a month and a half to get some stuff to me in nsw.

Check out the combat company in Sydney. A little bit dearer (but not as bad as GW stores), but its in country so it shouldnt take as long to ship stuff.

3-4 weeks seems to be about normal from Maelstrom these days.

Depends on what codex you ordered and when you did. They get pretty busy around their sales so it can take a little longer and if it's something popular you may have to wait a little due to how they can restock with GW.

Last time I ordered internationally from them I started to get slightly annoyed because my order status kept showing as not shipped yet for a week or so. I started to worry that there was something shady going on. I emailed them and it turned out something I wanted wasn't in stock so that's what the holdup was. It got into stock a week later, and they shipped my order out, and it got to me well before their listed shipping time. So overall I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Last time I ordered something it shipped on the Wednesday (the day the item came into stock), and was here by the following Wednesday morning.

It took 4-5 weeks last time I ordered for things to arrive, this was during one of the VAT sales, so I wasn't too annoyed since a lot of stuff was out of stock constantly due to high order volumes. Patience is the key with Maelstrom, as it's not like you're being promised it will arrive on a certain date, or (as with another thread) it will ship a certain way. An email to them regarding the status of your order would be a lot better than a forum posting.

Ordered 1 month ago and it took a couple weeks to get here.... ordered last week and it took 3 days to get here. Depends on items stock, if they are having a big sale discount and if items are restocked by manufacturers etc.

Just to comment
Recently bought two obliterators two weeks ago and one of them only got shipped last week
The other got split because they ran out of stock
Didn't think obliterators were that popular of an item honestly
Thought people proxied them from terminators for the most part

I don't really mind because I've got a huge backlog of chaos models I need to do, but I was wondering how come it took so long to get past the processing stage

I think they didn't get stuff from GW properly. Ordered on the 14th, fully knowing that the two land speeders wasn't in stock.

This weekend I got an e-mail telling me the order was split and everything but the speeders were shipped. (Still not in stock)

An ork Codex that wasn't currently in stock. This was my first maelstrom order, hence the reason for this post.

Aside from the obvious, Maelstrom has been rather crappy lately.

Poor customer service.

Posting late or splitting orders.

Why poor customer service? Can you share your negative experience?

Whats wrong on splitting orders? I find it quite clever, if manufacturers dont supply them with stock they ship you what they have instore now and the rest when they get it... and thats the oposite of poor customer service IMO. Did I mention you dont pay a cent for shipping? I mean they split the thing in parcels and they pay each shipping from their pockets... what do you want more?
Faster restock? well thats not Mael call is it?

I dont mind the waiting if you pay considerably less for goods and shipping is free and if you have aproblem shoot them a mail and they will solve it... In my case the longest waiting I had was probably 1 month for outofstock items.

Waylands's is also great and has items Maelstrom doesnt carry yet you pay a little more because you have to include shipping... Battlefield berlin also great but items are full retail price and you have to include shipping... THe warstore great prices but high shipping to my country and the customs problems kills both money deals and fast returns... theres more stores for sure but from my experience with all these I find that for europe Maelstorm and Waylands are most professional and cheaper than others.

In my experience Maelstrom had worse customer service before. It took about six months to fix a problem with an order (missing bits in a box). Looks like the guy that was supposed to be working on it was fired. Since other person took charge it all went smooth. In addition, I don't see a problem in splitting orders when the shipping usually is free. Since the missing bits issue, I haven't had any problem with them.

Yeah. As I thought.

It's usually the GW items that Maelstrom has problems shipping with any speed, and as I've explained before, this has nothing to do with Maelstrom and everything to do with GW dicking around with them (one order per week, delays despite both their main warehouses being in Nottingham, and so on).

H.B.M.C. got me to start looking into Maelstrom, so far I am pleased with everything, I got a good amount of vallejo air color from there, and it shipped the next day. Shipping is just one of those things where your milage may vary, IMHO.

To both of the above... neither of you is in a country that is the equivalent distance from the UK as is AUS. I waited over 2 months for the 2nd half of my order... a single Circle of Orboros Wold Guardian...

but that was not the beginning of the problems...

I had to send 6! emails to address the original problem... a complete set of Vallejo Game Colur was posted with damaged paints within. 1 paint had been opened and subsequently arrived dried up and useless... while another 2 paints were completely MISSING... not in the set of 72 at all... even had spaces where they should have been included...

After much back and forth, Maelstrom's answer was to provide me with 'cash back' on heir site... 6GBP or something ridiculously small to 'replace' the missing items...

Since they have no problem splitting orders... why not just post me out the 3 paints?

Customs usually opens boxes of paint coming into country though, what probably happened is that some redshirt opened it and did not put it back.

I still dont see poor service sorry...

You do know what is happening with PP stock problems worldwide dont you? I do track down Mael stock and only buy PP stuff INSTOCK or with quantities above 2 or 3 units why?
Because items are sold out at manufacturer and if manufacturer doesnt produce and supplies stores you have a undetermined waiting for those items... So yeah that sucks but not Mael fault is it? Just be tahnkfull amel has a realtime stock updater... most dont have taht believe me.

Opened paint pots and 1 spilled etc... same thing happened when I ordered paints from the US its called "customs controll" Again not mael fault yet they refunded you with the money to buy the missing colors... whats the problem here?

Sorry Im not defending Mael since Im totally neutral I buy weres a good deal, mael, wayland, the warstore, ludik, battlefield berlin etc etc I just think your ranting over things that are not their direct fault and they tried to help you out in some way.
