Seems to me that the 3rd ed tyrant would be a perfect model for the Prime. It looks like an upsized warrior, is mounted on a 40mm, and can use much of the same arms as the Warriors. However I havent seen anyone go this route. Why?

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I do! And to clarify - I think its a perfect substitute - ie. larger than a normal warrior yet slightly smaller than the new Tyrant.

I didn't go that way because I dislike 3rd edition Hive Tyrant and Carnifex. I took the 2nd edition Hive Tyrant as a base instead.

I was digging out some old 3rd ed Nid models I had laying around and stumbled upon it, which is why it hit me. Personally the 3rd ed Nids had a sort of charm to them that the newer ones just dont (dont get me wrong, I love the new models. But there's something about 3rd ed models that I just like).
