Great progess Cam! I prefer the gothic windows for the 40K feel of it, though I'll gladly admity the square ones look quite industrial.

The gothic one look sicks, but for game play the square ones allow line of sight. I am torn between the 2.

As the judge I don't know if I'm allowed to help with deciding on the windows , but great progress as always Cam. You have such vision. That's really impressive how that crossbeam is holding all that weight, is that all plastic card, or something else?

@JoshInJapn: I don't know if Cam really gets that much hobby time each "day", but I know he pulls a lot of long nights building his wonders

Well done, padawan. 1.7kg= 3.74 lbs., so a bit more impressive, especially considering that it is foamcore. Yes, I do have a conversion app on my phone.

Non Gothic windows, of course. Gothic windows belong on cathedrals, not factorys. Not ever.

I am astounded by the structural integrity of the cross beam. You should consider building a full scale version in your back yard Cam.

That's mega Cam, looks really nice.

Perhaps , as in the future there is only war, it's too nice and should have holes in the walls ?

Very very cool however, and Ă t a speed that can only be marvelled at, do you drink Redbull on an industrial level ?

Nice work, Cam'.
Good job on the mural.

I'd say the square windows as there's not much Gothic on the outside of the building. It looks very functional for a building, and that needs functional windows.

Not where I should be

Thank you all, really appreciate it.

I honestly really appreciate your comments guys, really means the world to me, not got half as much done as I would like, but had a bad few days. (seems to be going around) getting through it with Dakka though.

Anyways, guess I better stick up a little progress,

Got a question or two. What do we think of the roof, and should the roof be attached to the first floor walls?

In answer to your questions, I decided some time ago, I would stick to one thing, my modelling. This means I don't really watch TV, I don't mess about with other projects, I just model. And when I settle down I get on with it, no procrastination, do that on the toilet, sit and think what I am doing next. The only real distractions are the occasional film, or spending time on Dakka on your blogs. I don't sleep much, I don't go out at all really. Normally just work and then modelling. I also don't plan anything, I mean I kinda have an idea what I am going to do, but no set pattern to go by. For instance I made 3 different versions of the main beams before I was happy, but I just make it, look at it, and no, OK, make another. So I just sit, the only thing in the background is music or youtube, listening to Dogman Encounters right now, been listening to a lot of Spaced Out Radio, say what you like about it, it is interesting but not distracting, and no flashing images. Anyways I hope that kinda fills in the blanks a bit, the truth is I have a lot of time at this, but I am probably very fast too, don't think too much, and fortunately have a lifetime of experience in modelling and construction at all levels, qualified Mechanical Engineer too, so maybe I have a few advantages on you guys. Mind you I have no idea what a Sternguard is and am scetchy at best on lore, so swings and roundabouts.

Thank you for looking, thank you again for the comments and hope to be back soon.

I love the roof Cam. You should make it removable so people can enjoy the view into the model, but put little registration pins or blocks on it so it's right spot can easily be found and it sits securely where it belongs.

I agree with Gitsplitta, that model is too nice to make any parts of it hard to see. So it'd be nice to keep the roof detachable. It's a shame everyone on Dakka lives so spread out, if everyone was close by I doubt you'd ever have a chance to work on your models. We'd all want to get in games with you too frequently.

It’s all coming together nicely Cam please make sure that roof is removable. You have put to much effort on the interior to not make it accessible.

+1 for the removable roof, but build something in so it can be slotted into place and not slip off. Easy enough to make something that looks like part of the structure, or even just decoration.

What are the approximate internal dimentions? Also how much space is there between the struts?
I'm only curious about how big it is, but the distance between the struts might affect someone getting their hands in & out.

Speaking of those struts, It would be a shame to leave them like that, I'm sure they would be able to support a gantry and/or Cartesian arm or three. Just what you need in a workshop.

I spend ages designing, even planning rivet placement, I even went so far as to try animating the plans on one thing I made just to make sure it wan't too unrealistic, but to each their own.

Edit: Looks awesome Cam, it really does.

The roof does look very cool, and yes removable would be best. Maybe magnatise it?

Looks like a roof fit for skylights. I approve.

The other section could be flat, with some stuff on it, vents, lights, etc. Attach the roof if internal access is possible some other way.

Square windows, roof looks great (just like the Red October Tractor Factory at Stalingrad), make it removable- but idiot-proof it (ie: make it so it can't slip off unless you're deliberately removing it).

On second thought: make it idiot resistent, nothing is idiot proof.

Great stuff, as always!

+3 or +4 for removable roof, being able to get into the model later may help with further changes or adjustments required later.

Interesting on how you view your time in the hobby, I myself are quite the opposite, I have to many things going on and I want to do them all (this does leave me quite tired during the day) I guess i have a case of FOMO or something else that drives me to do ALL the things.

Interesting to ponder on.

Not where I should be

Thank you all.

Thank you all for your thoughts, glad people seem to like it. I seem to have mislead you though, the roof was always going to be removable as such, but I wondered if the mid section 1st floor and roof should be removable as one. As to access, I can easily get my huge ham fists in about everywhere so should not be a problem. I will also be adding a lot more details yet, Like the gantry and block and tackle and such. Also got to add a "Alter" somewhere, thinking front internal wall up high.

So been working a little on an Ork project, but did get some done today, in the groove a bit....

Pic drop........

And here goes the break down, this will remain the "parts" of this build.

And a silly shot..

Well really appreciate any comments. thanks for looking.
