I forced a friend to play 2 games of Infinity with me. I'm sure we botched the rules terribly. Other than that, I own the entire Infinity Aleph range and some Haqqislam. I love Infinity models.

I also stopped playing Malifaux due to lack of opponents, but I still collect. Once they release a Kaeris or Hoffman model, I'll be happy.

Either way, I have a collection of Infinity Aleph (some Haqqislam) and Malifaux Arcanists (Some Outcasts) due to the models alone. I've played games only because I have the models.

I have one Warmachine model I used for SoB. But, it got me looking at the rest of the Warmachine stuff because I think the quality was pretty decent.

Somewhere in south-central England.

What about armies for games we haven't played in a long time?

I have a full ACW Union Army, which hasn't seen action for over 15 years. I'm not going to throw it away, though. One day I'll find someone who wants to play.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Good thread. I tend to collect miniatures with an aim for art painting, so based on that, i have quite a few models for games I haven't played.

I've only played three games of Infinity, with proxies, which is ironic, as I own almost the complete range of Nomads, PanOceania, Aleph, Haqqislam and Yu Jing (in some cases doubles or triples!!), I have a part collection of Ariadna as well...anyway, I promised myself never to field these models until I have painted them to the same standard as Angel Giraldez.....so they might not see a gaming table for some time

I also have the entire MERCS range, and cards, but I haven't managed to get a game in yet. The models are ok, but I've really bought them to support the new game and because I like the concept...

Looking to purchase the new Studio McVey stuff when it comes out in metal (won't afford those crazy resin prices)

Since Im pretty much inactive in gaming right now you could say all of them.

I frequently buy minis just to build and paint, or to use with alternate rules systems. Its nothing new to me. Sometimes I buy a rulebook or expansion just to read, knowing Ill likely never play it.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)

I too have an ACW army that has never been used in a game. Someday I'll get some rules for it and try it out.
I buy minis by genre, not by game system.

Well since I rarely play most of my collection has not reached a gamming table.

- Infinity (Yujing)
- Mercs (CCC)
- Hordes (Trollbloods )
- Freebooter ( random models)
- Rackham ( uraken metals)
- Alkemy ( aurlock)
- Otherworld miniatures (rpg)
- WFB ( night goblins)
- 40k ( Tyranids and Deathguard)
- Lord of the rings ( mumak)
- Ilyiad games (orcs)

And more random models from other ranges, I also managed to sell all my FOW Paratroopers, Urban mammouth celtos, wfb chaos warriors, demons and beasts, warmachine khador....
So yeah most dont ever see a game table but I collect stuff even from dead games no one plays that can fit a warband game of Songs of blades and heroes, so all minis are usefull in some way.

I have a bunch of anima tactics models as well as the rulebook. The models were simply way too beautiful to pass up. Course, never found someone to play a game with yet, but there's always hope.

And some of the Infinity stuff is looking really attractive too...

Cozy cockpit of an Archer ARC-5S

Flames of War (mostly tanks though), Infinity (Ariadna and Haqqislam), Iron Kingdoms (Mercs), Mantic (Undead), AT-43 (ONI and Red Blok mostly), Bolt Action (British and Germans) and 40k (Orks).

I mostly buy the minis because I like the look, am looking for a diversion or because I keep telling myself that those fine minis can be put to use in other games. In reality I just collect for the sake of.. collecting?

I also have the compulsive disorder to collect FFG 40k RPG books, even though I don't play two of the three systems.

I can relate to that BrookM, I haven't played anything since Rogue Trader 40k and the confrontation rules that became necromunda, but am compelled to build game legal forces for some bizarre reason. (Although I work so slowly the force normally has to change to reflect changing editions).
So, yeah, basically my entire collection

Being from a humble rural background, I collected and painted miniatures long before I found a club to game at. I've got a lot of Space Marines who I'm hesitant to commit to battle because I need more tanks for a balanced force, still got my Black Reach Orks, I wanted to paint Night Lords, so I've got a squad of them and 2 heroes, fledgling WHF Empire force which I begn before my DE army, but it's the De who get the love and the games. Also got lotsa LotR miniatures, it's them who got me into it, straight off the movies; Dwarves, Mordor and Gondor, but no games. Count some Space Marines off because I've played a killteam with them, but that's it.

I have a nearly complete 2,000 pt Light Panzer Division army for FoW: Blitzkrieg that I have yet to field. I've also got a small-ish collection of 1:2400 WW II naval models from GHQ, and I've yet to play a game with them. Axis & Allies War at Sea has been scracthcing that itch too effectively!

40K, more or less. Have two budding armies and no real chance to play. Hopefully that will change, soon.

I had a Warriors of Chaos army, but I traded most of it off. I held onto the couple dozen models I painted though. I do, however, have about 20 Adeptus Arbites and the old Necromunda box set, all unpainted. I've also got Space Hulk new in the shrink wrap. I plan to paint all of it someday...

Im far more collector than gamer as well. it was the minis that got me into the hobby more than the gaming. My first was battletech, and i can say if we had used the cardboard cut-outs instead of minis I wouldnt have been nearly as excited about it as I was. When i went to the games store with my buddy to buy some of my own I saw all the other kinds of minis, and it took off from there.

In actual time spent gaming...Ive spent many more hours with RPGs than mini games.

I have a few Warmachine models that I bought at first to paint then hoping if I get a couple of balanced low point lists to play against a friend with.

I've also picked up some Malifaux models to paint and since buying the rules I'm going to try to get a couple of forces together.

Got some Helldorado models on order too.
