Yesterday i played a game of 40k against my usual IG opponent, and this was the first time i fought against rough riders.
They were devastating to my raiders. So dakka, do you guys have any tips on beating em?

They are T3? And just 5 guardsmen, just fire at them and force a leadership test?
And the MELTABOMBS were devastating, not the Rough Riders themselves.

really? His 55 point unit of 5 would need 6s to hit your raiders and then he would need 5s to glance or 6 to pen. Why not just try to assault them or shoot them.
Wyches will strike first in CC, still have their invulnerable save and some combat drug result.

yeah it was the melta bombs, and the fact that my raiders were already immobilised...

I think you need to explain the problem to them a bit more detailed.
My units of RR charged his tanks that sat around or didn't move.
Their meltabombs tore through three tanks, but then the units screwed up and didn't do anything.
I could have taken out more...

OP:
Splinter weapons are the bane of any infantry. Splinter rifles, splinter cannons....why don't you pack a couple of venoms into your list if you've having trouble dealing with infantry? Or deal with the rough riders with an assault unit? You have effective cavalry in your own codex (Beasts) along with various mounted/WWP assault options (Wyches/wracks/grotesques/Incubi/other).
