I did try a search of this but couldnt but in the right combo of words..and I know I have read about this before but it never effected me till now.

Can a squad of 2 LRBT give itself a cover save. One being behind the other and slightly to the side. Since they tank in front will block more then 50% of the back ones hull..Giving it a cover save..and since its only 2 units..it would mean half the unit is in cover. There for granting a +4 cover to the squad.

Models don't confer cover to other models in the same unit. Otherwise, it wouldn't just be vehicles benefiting... all units with more than 1 model would potentially be gaining cover saves by moving around the board in a huddle.

An off-shot of this is that members of a unit doesn't block LOS for each other either.

So the Leman Russes in the example can effectively shoot through each other, right?

Yes which is nice.

They can also get a cover save is if one pops smoke; 50% of the unit is in cover every one gets a cover save. (i expect an FAQ soon require all smoke to happen at the same time)

Another twist. If one hydra in a squadron of two pops smoke, both get 4+ obscured saves.

Alright thanks.. I think its the poping smoke that gave me this idea and I just got confused.

Wait, vehicles use true LOS for their weapons, if a lemon russ is in front of a lemon russ, both could easily shoot their lascannons even if the rear russ is completely LOS blocked by the front tank when firing at a forward target?

Yes. Page 64, squadron rules:

Hehe, haven't used vehicle squadrons that much but this is actually really funny. I can buy the immobilized rule since they must continue as a squad but the fact that cover changes depending on if they have the same squad marking or not is very funny.
