I've been playing DE since the new codex came out, and have been the most fun army I've ever played with or against.I don't believe there is a more balanced codex out there (thank you GW ). Over summer I was lucky enough to play a ridiculous amount of games, at least 2 a week, and from that I earned a lot of experience and insight into fighting with DE and how each unit works. At this point in time I have no idea how DE act on a grand tournament level (Adepticon needs to come sooner ) and which lists are most effective.
So far, two lists for me have stood out over all.(This is talking 1850/Ard Boyz level)

The first: A mixed Kabal/Wych cult led by the Duke/Lady Malys/Baron, with Flickerfeild Raiders galore. The amount of darklight weaponry in this kind of list is disgusting! I will also never give up the reliance you put on a ravager, never ever under performs and is cheap as all hell (However the Voidraven for ard'boys is very debatable)
The Second: Double WWP's with Haemonculie, Wracks, Baron and Helion spam. It's just amusing to watch your opponents eyes widen as squads upon squads jump right into their lines. Though I'm not really sure how long it will be till every person and their grandma knows how to counter this list, kind of like when drop pod armies first made an appearance.

So dakka (and dash ) What DE list is the most tournament worthy, and if any of you have any idea's, thoughts or abuse, please post them

i dont know if i would refer to any list that wins most matches as balanced, especially one that absolutly kills if they get the first turn. sorry... thats off topic.

But with DE it depends on the player, I have two other DE plays at my FLGS and both of them lose constantly and we all share tactics/ideas/lists, I haven't played these lists against IG leafblowers and Razorspam as of yet, but I've won against Wolfstar before, again with DE it really depends on how good the player is, and we are talking ard'boyz/Big tourni level here

Wow White-wolf! As soon as I skimmed the codex I bought 20 helions, and coverted up the baron and 30 wracks. However now I am styck, I don't know how to put a list together.

Do you have a list that works with wracks and helions!? I have beeen trying to put one together but I just cna't do it. I have glued up 3 ravagers and 2 raiders (actualy converted one raider to a ravager) but I am stuck. I cannot make this work. I don't know where to beging or how it works. Any help would be apreciated. I don't want to glue together anny more transports! It takes forever painting and gluing and then painting again.

I play at 1750.

I have a Necron list that wins most matches. Are Necrons overpowered?

Dark Eldar is a good codex. I don't like it very much, I *much* preferred the old one...where Lelith was great, and my wyches weren't gimps. It is a difficult codex, it is difficult to master, it is unforgiving, and it is not for beginners. As I travel for tournaments, and see other Dark Eldar players, they consistently do badly. I'm glad. I don't want this to be a commonly seen army.

There *is* no list that wins most matches, but there *are* several lists that an exceptional PLAYER can win matches with. Don't put too much stock into the power of a list.

for me hellions and wracks dont mix well. Hellions are fast fast fast while wracks really need a transport. If you mount up your wracks then your hellions can stay with, but they are rather expensive to get shot up. Even in a WWP list wracks are going to be uberslow and they dont have much of a shooting attack to help them.
neither has much shooty so taking full ravagers is probably a good idea.

I can se why wracks and helions could be in the same list. The hellions just do an amasing job of being anoying, and the wracks are really devestating out of a WWP. (120 for sutch a combat squad and 2 LF guns?)

I would say that Exergy
is right he has it down the baron makes kabalite and poisined weapons very scary but wracks do not get nearly as much of a bonus but hellions are good probably with reavers and ravagers and after that you could put him with trueborn and get 3+ to wound with a bunch of shardcarbines

There is so much dumb floating around Dakka these days that I don't even want to post anymore. I've been thinking about hanging up my Dakka hat, I can't even make a dent in the crap around here anymore.

I think it is more in line with your level of skill and competition. Your wisdom, which is beyond conventional, has transcended to a point that what you know will win is different from the mainstream though. That is not sarcasm, but the advice you give will be hard to resonate with people with either cannot fathom what you think, or have wrapped themselves in a shell of ignorance that they either reject out of hand what you say for one reason or another.

Suffice to say, your contributions are probably best applied to people you know and respect already for their prowess and match or are attempting to reach a level of competition that you strive for.

I still meet the occasional player (when I have the time) who's never even thought to encircle a transport. I've also met (a lot) more players who become very very angrry at this type of WAAC Powergaming etc. That and writing a list I feel like playing.

That would be a great loss to dakka I think. For what its worth, I have more respect for you than for any other person on here. Your knowledge of the game and your skill as a player is practically unmatched and you give out good advice to anyone who will listen. I do hope you don't plan on hanging up your hat; I don't think anyone else on here could fit into it.

Dash you are possibly the best ork/DE player out there and your knowledge of both codex should inspire all Please don't leave!

No dash dont leave i personally like what you post including vs stelek I may be SW but what he did was just uncalled for I read his stuff on you and you seem quite a bit nicer and better and he called dakka dakka gasp gasp gasp crappa crappa blasphemy.

Dark Footdar can be allright, but 'tournament competitive' is a huge stretch. Stick with the mech.

Also, Dash, don't hang up the dakka hat! I personally always find your input very interesting and absolutely correct; it's really good to get advice from someone with such a great tournament record as yourself.
