This is my first post here, and I'm not quite sure if this is the place to ask this, but here goes:

I'm playing tyranids, and I had the idea of a kind of biomechanical Hive Tyrant that had been killed in battle, taken for study by Imperium scientists, then somehow been reconnected with the Hive Mind, allowing it to once again do as bugs do.

Does this sound like an acceptable idea fluff-wise, and how difficult would this be to model.

Here's the stats for the Tyrant I'm using.

Hive Tyrant

305 points

Powers: Leech Essence, Paroxysm

Weapons: Lash whip, bonesword, twin-linked deathspitter

Options: Hive Commander, Old Adversary, Wings, Adrenal Glands

I was thinking of using the wings from the Terminus, Lich Lord model detailed here:

Any other thoughts/ideas/naysayings from a fluff standpoint?

Sounds pretty cool. It shouldn't be too hard to do, but it might be hard to do well

I would recommend checking out some of the examples kicking around on this board and others about biomechanical deamon armies. I think the principles will be the same, just using tyranid parts. Also pictures or it didn't happen

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

While fluff would suggest no. (something that rare would be kept for constant study)

Model wise you have to do this.
Would be a shame to waste a good idea.

Just remember that at no point do they have to adhere to fluff. You could say that they're experimental weapons in use by the Ordos Xenos.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

Any thoughts on other bits I can make biomechanical?

Wow. That looks really cool and really creepy. I'd suggest using Green Stuff to model around the parts to make it look like the Hive Tyrant has 'absorbed' the mechanical stuff and the two are now irreversibly linked.

Otherwise, looks great! Make sure to post painted pics too.
