I am assuming by "Tanks" you mean any vehicles. Because I am fairly certain thaty the following vehicle-heavy armies contain no tanks.

Deldar Raider Rush.
Kan Wall.

Otherwise, I think yes. Excluding the very obvious Tyranids, there are Green Tides, and Descent of Angels armies, amongst others.

I recently played against a lash list with 3 squads of noise marines on foot and 3 units of obliterators. While his stratergy was ineffective against my own, he managed some impressive wins over some other players.

Ive also run a foot eldar list and had successes with it.

As long as your infantry can dish out ranged damage against vehicles and infantry, have some combat element, and be either survivable or numerous (preferably both, KFF ork hoarde for example) then there is no reason you need any vehicles.

There aren't any space marine armies, I don't think. Unless you consider BA armies with assault marines as troops (descent of angels?).

De can work without "tanks", I suppose. Ravagers are a tank though, so I'm not sure.

Not only is it possible, but all-foot lists tend to float to the top of competitiveness in non-tournament settings.

I was actually going to post a topic like this last week because, other than walkers and some small skimmers, I just don't enjoy building tanks. I think all the ones I came up with have already been mentions, though, aside from an all jump pack list, you can get two assault squads, some tactical or scout squads for holding the home field, and two missile spam devastator units in a Blood Angels list without using any tanks.

"Well, isn't the enemy of your enemy, like, your friend? Or whatever? Can't they team up?"
"Not exactly. In this setting, the enemy of your enemy is still a floating, greasy, armored brain."
"Well, what about his enemy? Maybe you could be friends with him."
"No, because that guy is a mechanical horror in an undying battle shell. He sails from world to world in a flying tomb, serving gods who eat hope."

Dark eldar: eather the flesh carnival with WWP or big big qarriors squads with pain token.

Eldar: Some people claims it works. They have the models for it but I have not seen it in action.

Nids (who knew?): they cannot have tanks although spores, trygons and trevigons can simulate the experience

IG: This list is downright nasty.

Logan wing or deathwing: Temrinators with cyclone missile launchers (very easy to bring to games doe to the low model count! although loganwing usualy involves drop pods)

Demons: Then you are just doing princes instead of souldgrunders. Both are good.

Blood angels: They have a decent of angel rule that enabels them to drop en mass from the skies of red.

What can the tankless army lists bring to the table? Well for starters it is cheaper to collect and easier to paint (one tank is 35 points, a temrinator is 40. A raider is 60 true, but the atension to details while building it is huge!) From a tactical standpoint people prepeare there lists to handel mech spam because othervice these games are auto-lose. Playing withouth tanks enshures that a lott of his/her weaponds are not very good. (Tyranids, some Dark Eldar and deamonds builds are sort of en exeption.)

Also not mentioned yet is the Vanilla SM Biker Army. Lots of Bikes with some Rifleman Dread Support can be a pretty decent list. At higher point levels Sallies on Wheels can be painful

Horde quickly comes to mind but without more detailed information from the OP it's hard to say what they are looking for in a particular army.

I've ran my Space Wolves without tanks forever and they do just fine. I might however break down and get a Land Raider, but only because you can assault out of it.

I don't think Ravagers are tanks, you can give them the prows so they tank shock like tanks but they are not tanks.

If you mean tanks in the literal sense, then my raider spam DE has no tanks and is very competitive. I have also seen horde BTs do good which is all marines on foot.

I kind of meant tanks, but I was also trying to see opinions on vehicles in general. Should've put that in the heading, but yeah, tanks, APC, vehilces in general.

How about Shrikenators, can it work without tanks? Shrike, terminators, CCW scouts, Assault Squads?

Violence is not the answer, but it's always a good guess.
