So, I'm running Old Zogwort, weirdboy Psycher, which can turn ICs into Squigs and was just wondering what everyone thinks of him? My whole list is all about Craziness. Old Zogwort, Shokk Attack, ramshackling trukks and sometimes a Vulcha Boyz squad, which ALWAYS seems to scatter into dangerous terrain.

This list was made for random, crazy and funny games. I once rolled an “Ere We Go” (teleports as if a deep striking) with Zogwort and his 19boyz squad right out of a Battlewagon, rolled a Mishap and got a Misplaced. My opponent conveniently placed them in open terrain in the middle of the board in front of his entire 2k army. By the way, this was first turn and I went first. HAHAHA!

I know some might not like their ICs turned to Squigs, but how upsetting is it? I’m trying to do this for fun but is it worse than getting Lashed and the “DON’T TOUCH MY MODELES!!!!” issue? I’ve even converted up some squigs, one with Demon horns, one with a commissar hat and shoulder tassels, and want to make at least one for each army. (I’ll post photos when I finish up my painting of them)

I’m even thinking of giving the squig to my opponents if I have the appropriate squigs for their Army and if I squig their favorite HQ. How would you take that offer? I don’t want it to be taken the wrong way.
Just to be clear again. I’m doing this for fun and am trying to make it crazy and fun for both players. I just love the crazy randomness of this list. I think it has the ability to make some very memorable games for all, which I love about this game.

Heh you've gone about orks the funny way. I would totally play you There's nothing wrong with old zogwort: he's a very interesting character and on the offensive side of things actually quite good. Defensively he's not very good which doesn't help him out.

Fluff-wise hes a nice read and I love the curse he has. The idea of squigging a super-badass character like Lysander on a higher roll is very amusing

Big fan of the zog!

I prefer to play my orks random-as-gork style, rather than powerbuilding them. Orks are a bit resistant to powerbuilding anyway, and if you're not playing orks for the fun theycan be why play them

I've had a few opponents (mostly in tournaments) ragequit after i squigged their OP SC/IC, but by and large most players take it in good fun

I once met a Tau player at my FLGS who had got some bigshot Tau battlesuit off forgeworld. He asked me to field a character for 160-ish points to go one-on-one with his new IC hero. Of course, Zog came out and squigged the idiot

He took it in good spirits but Zogwart is one of the things that make 40K awesome in my opinion. Use him, even without the curse he's a nice character that your opponent can never predict.

Army specific squigs would be a good way to counteract my dislike of a hero-sniping save-or-suck.

Make one for the Necron Lord! I'd love to see one of those, part squigg, part Necron, all possibly awesome. Shame/great that the C'tan can't be affected though.

They can. I've squigged the Nightbringer many times.

C'tan are Independent characters, but can't join units.

They still count as IC's.

Mephiston should have this rule....Squigphiston

@Ascalam
Why isn't Mephiston Squig worthy? He should be. He's all about being an IC I don't get why he isn't.

There was a guy at my old FLGS that when the new codex came out he started converting squigs for each IC. He had a squig with Abbadon's Sword and Talons, one that was dressed up like a Tau Battlesuit and some others.

and several others..

Mainly because Mephiston tacked onto a unit of ablative wounds would be broken even for Ward...

I would have made him and all other SC's independents, and then given them a rule like the C'tan's to stop them joining units..

Swarmlord etc aren't either..

to get turned into a Squig?

So why are the c'tan independents?

It'd be fairer. It seems a bit wierd to say that you can turn this stargod, or that SM librarian into a squig, but not THAT one.. arbitrarily

Not really in the mood to argue this one back and forth, but it seems a bit odd that some heroes can be squigged, and others not...

That would be because some of the heroes in the game are from older edition codices I'm sure that if the C'tan are even in the new dex (I'm not sure what the rumors have been about them) they won't be ICs anymore.

As an Ork player I'd be 100% fine with it and I'm pretty sure if my army could laugh when it happened they would I used a proxy of him a couple times and it was always good for a laugh, in one game I remember squigging both Abbadon and Kharn it's more fun then using Mind Worm from the DA

Oh and I think what you should do for a Necron sqiug is just have a normal squig with a ressurection orb in its mouth and glowing green eyes

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Converting squigs is a popular pasttime with fans of Zogwort; go for it!

He's a great HQ, and fits your style of play, so keep with him.

The only thing you need to make sure you do is to get a checklist of all the HQs in the different codexes so that you can check them off as you squig them.

Word. I played against Zogwort and I was quite afraid of him, luckily my Farseer didn't get squigged. If she had been on the other hand, I would probably had taken it better if it was a themed squig with ghosthelm... That would have been quite fun, really.
