Okay, so the jury is still out but most people think the Dread Knight is looks pretty silly. So if that is the case what do you all think of using it for a Deff Dread?

Hopefully the official conversion will look even better. I am already thinking a mega nob might look pretty good inside of it too. A lot more bolted on plates, glyphes, and more dakka.

While I have your attention folks, would this not be a conversion? Some user named Therion seems to think this would be a a kitbash and not a conversion. Have I been using the wrong terminology all these years? I would think that if someone used an extensive amount of greenstuff, plasticard, and ork bits to turn a Dread Knight into a Deff Dread it would be called a conversion.

Just curious. I would hate to think I have been calling my baneblade into a skullhamma a conversion when it has been a kitbash all along.

This. Granted, you would need to cover up all of the GK bling and cram a load of Orky imagery and extra mechanical stuff, but anybody with a decent bitz box should be able to pull it off.

Nice! This conversion would be about half the price as the FW model too.

I would go Mega-dread over Deff Dread.

Eastern Frontier Exploratores
224th Astra Legion (main army)
628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

It is closer in size to a mega-dread isn't it? I didn't think of that.

actually reminds me of a project I was doing and just got stuck on it and havent finished.

It had too many issues and kinda needs a reboot.

Cant wait to see what you do so I might get a bit inspired by it.

When I first saw that thing I immidiately hoped that someone would loot it for their orks.

I say go for it.

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.

Yeah, when orks loot stuff they find on the battlefield, they're perfectly happy to remove broken bits. Cut a dreadknight off at the knees (and maybe the elbows too) so it fits on a 60mm base and is a better match for a Dredd's 80mm height - you should have enough bits left over to make most of a second Dredd.

And anything else could be fashioned out of plasticard.

I think I'm certainly going to try and make a Deff Dread out of it. Although I'm pretty sure others around here will do a lot better job.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.
