So here's my Baneblade. I don't have the stuff to do weathering or something like that. actually I don't even know what stuff to use for that. I'm the kinda guy who likes to paint every piece of the thing before I assemble it. That includes painting the stuff that you can't even see when it's done xD Since I don't play, my only joy is to paint them Tho I need to learn A lot of new techniques. So I look at it as somekind of wip too.

The front of it.

I don't have that many colours to chose between.. The only reason I have those two crewmembers there is becouse I want to get an idea of the size of the tank.

This can seem A bit overrated ;D paint camo underneath the tank?? That's just me

The rear. I can make A lot of changes and improvements here! But then again.. I don't have the stuff for it.

But what I lack in some things I think I make up for with other Like painting the ladder in camo too ^^,

Well I hope you like it If you guys got any ideas to get it look more "used in combat" without having me spend money on it i'd be most thankful!

Excellent job.You do precision work.

Start with some washes. Black will bring out the scribed lines. Devan Mud for the sides and treads. Dry brush Vermin brown and Vomit brown on the tracks for rust and mud.--I know, I know, It's scary to take a risk to dirty up such pretty work, but it will add greater dimension and realism to your otherwise outstanding work.

Also consider highlighting all the edges. A lot of work, but highlighting really make a model pop visually. Plus it's typical for wear and tear on sharp corners and edges of an armored vehicle.

Better yet, check out Ash 1's brilliant work with his IG armor. He can give you good advice.

Building up your collection of modelling materials is a great way to get better as you add new techniques to your repertoire with each purchase.

As others have said, begin with a few washes, badab black and devlan mud would be good ones to start with. Then maybe move into highlights and weathering.

The latter can be done quite nicely with Tamiya weathering kits. They're my favourite at the moment.

Nice choice of colors for your camo pattern. A lot of people pick a too realistic pattern and end up with a mini that doesn't pop at all. Yours works very well and gives your mini a great composition.

From here, you have a lot of options on how to proceed. I won't negate the things that have been said here, but another option you have is to simply layer up your highlights (rather than hard edging). In summary, you'll want to take a little bit of bone white color and add it to all of the base colors you used here, then apply it over all of the raised surfaces. You can repeat that process with a little more bone white until you like the finish.

You can do that in conjunction with washing/inking the mini, or just on its own.

Looks very crisp.
I think many people would like to get down this colour for their grey knights.

Very nice cammo scheme it does the job of breaking up the form of the tank quite nicely. Not too repeat everyone else but I do agree some washes will definitely make this baby pop!

Thx guys fot the help and feedback! I'm glad that the camo is not a total fail. ;D

About the washes.. Is there anything I need to think of when applying it? And where shall I apply it?
Sry if this is the wrong place to ask this. :/

Start with black wash, and go for recessed areas. It will add depth to the model. The great thing about washes is you can build up slowly with several layers to make the wash on the armor darker.
On the side armor, make sure you go vertical, not horizontal. Rust and stains follow gravity.

If you are nervous about starting washes on the Baneblade, I recommend practicing on a lesser model, like a Chimera or a Russ. especially if its your first time.

Thx Brushfire!
I have some old space marine tanks. But they are Ultramarine schemed. Does that make any difference?

Nope. Ultramarines are not immune from mud, rust or grime. They get dirty in war like everyone else--'Cause war after all is a dirty business.

The camo on the bottom helps conceal it from heretics as they get run over!

I don't know about this, I'm pretty sure Ultrasmurfs are afraid of getting dirty...
