So... I've been thinking recently (I stopped sharpish) and I was wondering what moment(s) have people been proud of on the table-top?

When 3 tau battlesuits routed and killed a unit of 30 hormagaunts, in melee, after making 15 armor saves.

Or that one gun drone that smacked a space marine in the face and killed him, winning me the game.

But perhaps the best was the single battlesuit who made 34 armor saves. In a row.

A killteam skirmish, where one of my regular boyz watched the rest of his mob get slaughtered

then methodically eliminated 10 marines single handedly in an incredible steak of vengeance

I had a 10 man wych squad (old codex) that had been shot down to 3 left get shot at by a full stormtrooper squad with hotshot lasguns that had been ordered to FRFSRF within Rapid Fire Range, totalling 30 shots, making 17 wounds on 3 wyches..... they made everyone of the 4+ cover saves..... IG player quite right then lmao!!

way back in 3rd edition my 10 man Eldar guardian squad got assaulted by some Tyranid warriors and by pure luck i whittled it down. in the last turn of the game it was one warrior against my one guardian, and i managed to bring it down. Later i converted him into a dire avenger Exarch lol

Best Moment... for my friend's brother,
LR Crusader with 15 Blood Claws and Wolf Priest, six fire warriors with EMP assault it. Explodes killing 12 Blood Claws and leaving the FW completely unharmed. The firewarriors precede to slaughter the rest in melee losing only one of their own. Afterword they went on to kill two units of longfangs and a grey hunter's rhino before having every gun trained on them and assaulted by the hunters plus a lone wolf for 2 turns before the game ended. The look on his face was priceless.

I thought about it, but TBH i dont have the conversion potential to make him, and back then they didnt have the new dire avenger set with the shurcats mounted to the arm.

i remember a "worst moment", i was playing my old necrons in 4th in a team game, and my buddy playing orks fired a rokkit from a regular boy and rolled enough 6's to blow up my monolith...true story lol

After practicing for months and saving for a trip which involved driving 10 hours in car with a leaky roof at the age of 17, staying in a crappy low-budget hotel then taking my humble Space Marines in a plastic tub and winning my first tournament game.

I will never forget that time as long as I live.

Well, wasnt triumphant for me, but...

In single combat, after having his entire squad slaughtered, a lone tau pathfinder slapped my Chapter Champion in the face and killed him.

Otherwise when I fought a particularly useless chaos player who cowered in his deployment from my massive amount of fire power I could lay down( I was playing IG). He hid behind a large adminustratum ruin, so I dropped 3 Manticore shells on him, destroying 2 rhinos and killing about 8 Marines, making one squad run off the board and the rest came out of cover to fight and were mown down by my 4x plasma CCS in chimera.

Also I have heard a story about on missile launcher tac guy taking out something like 14 monoliths in 4th edition!

Pink Horror slapped a terminator to death in close combat. after surviving 4 LC attacks to the face.

I had a unit of 6 Tau firewarriors get jumped by a Lictor (old Tyranids). The lictor was so shocked by their pink helmets that it was disoriented enough to not hurt me, while he got clubbed to death by the pathfinders in the single round of combat.

I also had a unit of 10 gretchin hold up a soul-grinder in close combat for 2 turns, keeping it from getting to do anything.

One of my more recent favorites....I was playing DE against an Ork opponent. My wyches got burninated by my own stupidity, leaving two alive. The next turn, those two wyches got smacked with a deffrolla on a battlewagon. I figured I was going to lose them anyway with 6+ armour saves against D6 hits, so chose to death or glory with a haywire grenade. Rolled a 6 to penetrate, and a 6 exploded it, taking out a bunch of the boyz inside too.

One of my first games I was playing Tau vs CSM with 750 points, my lone Broadside took out his Terrmie Lord, both Rhinos and his Drednaught, and blasting two more Chaos Termies away with his PR. Needless to say he always gets shot at first from now on.
Not my story but anyways...
Two of my friends where playing Orks vs SM and the SM player had a heavy bolter guy in his tac squad killed a whole squad of three biker boyz. He later renamed him to "Boltinidas"

Playing guard vs guy who is clearly new to DE (proxying tau vehicles) at 750 points as part of a teams planetary empires campaign.
I got 1st turn. He conceded at the end of my turn 3, having only his archon (sp?) left on the board. I looked at my dead pile and saw 3 guardsmen....
I felt bad

My SM Adept, er... Sergeant (see my profile name), has proven his worth on several occasions.

He one time fought of about 50 or so plauge zombies, he didn't just survive the combat, he annihlated them all.

With a single shot from his plasma pistol, he destroyed a vindicator, my dreadnaught had been trying to do so for 4 turns, with a multi melta.

He killed an Avatar in single combat,

He has gone far and above his expectations as a an Adept (Sergeant, ok) and I am proud to have him amongst my force.

My broodlord, who made an Avatar of Khaine fall in love with him. There's also Geffroy, the ever survivable Genestealer, who always ends up as the sole survivor of his unit. Finally, my unnamed Khorne Champion, who wiped out almost an entire tau cadre by himself, and converting a Tau Player from the greater good into worshipping Chaos.

Having my Daemon Prince be assaulted by bike mounted Khan and retinue Death Star unit, taking 2 wounds and then tying them up in combat for the whole game finally killing off the squad at the end of the game.

I really wanted to play a game but had no money for an army, so one of my good friends coached me on how to use his orks complete with a conversion of Wazdakka...

First game was up against a CSM player with a bunch of berzerkers and Kharn. They took out my dread and kanz without much damage, so very reluctatnly I charge Waz into the fray...

and he slaughters all of em without a single wound, making all his saves.

I had the biggest smile on my face after that match.....

I dunno, nothing to be incredibly proud of, but in one game I played against eldar, my opponent kept trying to kill one of my vendettas, with pretty much everything, and it took him 4 turns to finally immobilize it, which made it wrecked, since it was in a squadron.

I suppose a couple other proud moments were when the meltagunner in my CCS exploded a WS at 12", and when one of my vendettas outflanked on the 3rd turn, and shot at a Chaos LR, exploding it and killing a good few Marines

In one match I was trying out Bjorn Fellhanded... and man did he ever deliver. He took out an Ork Stompa (causing 3/4 of the damage to it and finishing it off), destroyed a rogue Leman Russ and immobilized a Battlewagon for good measure, while also shrugging off incoming fire with his invul save and venerable rule.

One of my ML Tac marines singlehandedly scored the last objective against a grey hunter squad, and two long fang packs pelting him for two full turns....He then went on to his next game about 6 months later, in CC with an 11...Indeterminate gender squad of daemonettes, was the last man standing and withstood the 28 attacks that turn directed at him and him alone, returned one wound, caused another wound from no retreat and held the line (Screaming something about Sparta or Macragge whichever..) for the one last phase it took for the assault terminators to join in and wipe the floor with the daemonettes, dying in the process.

He has since been given a name and some bling.

Back in 3rd edition had a Lone guard sgt. survive a round of shooting from 3 broadsides with multi trackers and an apparent "1" generator inbuilt to charge in and wipe them out with a sweeping advance to give me enough victory points to win the game through owning his quarter with another squad all on the last turn. I am very terrible at this game, so I rarely come across anything to boast about.

The best I've ever gotten was Wrecking a Monolith with a Fusion Blaster. I don't recall what happens next, but seeing that the opponent was Necrons, I was most likely sweeped the following turn or the turn after.

With a squad of 20 necron warriors, glanced a land raider into a piece of cover. On seperate shots, got immobilized and weapon destroyed enough times to disable all the weapons.

Not that it would make any difference, but hotshot lasguns can't be used with FRFSRF - only lasguns.

definitely something to remember then, this guy has done that to me a few times...... guess I should reread the IG codex....

ok, I just reread the section on orders, and I don't see where it can't be used for hotshot lasguns..... Was it FAQed??? I know they are hotshot lasguns and not regular ones, but they are still lasguns.... dunno, maybe I'm just a little to easygoing on it???
