I just got done with a game in which a squad of 11 shoota boyz and a nob dealt a tremendous amount of wounds...in the shooting phase. Enough to wipe out a squad of MEQs. As such, I wanted to honor them by giving them a paint treatment worthy of their success.

Any tips anyone can give on good color schemes for snipers. I have a few different colors at my disposal, and i'd like red to be in there.

As well, if anyone knows where I could pick up a lot of spare scope bitz, that'd be grand.

You could go a couple of ways. One would be to give them proper, effective camouflage or ghillie suits or something like that. Alternatively you could go the exact opposite way and add random colour variations or tiny bits of camo mixed wtih bold colour blocs as if the Orks are trying to use something that they don't quite understand but are pretty sure it will work

For scopes you could do a lot worse than picking up some narrow gauge plastic tubing (or solid rod) and trimming off a whole bunch of scope-like objects. I would imagine that Ork scopes would be somewhat primitive anyway

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I think red camouflage would look awesome on orks. Then again, I think it just looks awesome.

How do I roll?

Pink....lots of hot pink.

Ask Dashofpepper for tips on how to make them as garish as possible.

I think red camo would suit them, just remember to use them. One time I forgot I had a squad of 10 sm scouts for 3 turns
Kinda funny though...

Bounding Black Templar Assault Marine

Crusading deep in the Eastern Fringe.

Orks have traditionally thought of purple as the stealthiest color. After all, who's ever seen a purple army??

No pity!
No remorse!
No fear!

I think the Imperial Stars chapter of space marines sport an all purple color scheme. I know, sounds a bit fruity.

I was thinking a mix of heavy black with a lot of red stripes and details. Guns included. The scope idea sounds pretty good, might just try jerry rigging some. I honestly love the freedom of ork conversions. I turned one of my deffkoptas into a waagh bike by just gluing wheels on the front and back (Kept all the flying gubbins cause I thought it was hilarious) and I can still use it as a deffkopta with its hover base.

I was also planning to paint their trukk in a similar fashion, maybe with a nice target reticle.

Through the looking glass

Red, everywhere. With that much red they move so fast, it's impossible to see them

Also, I like the idea of just putting as many scopes as possible on their guns. IG binoculars can be cut in half to make a scope.

Haha so you mean like three scopes stacked on top of one another? That'd be pretty orky...obviously more scopes means they hit more often.

I would pu the orky targeting circles on on all their guns and add a bionic eye to the nob and big shoota ork to boot.

I'd also add some bullet riddled SM helmets to their bases and the nobs bosspole...

Now that is a great idea, I have plenty of left over space marine heads. That'd add some great character.

I remember seeing somewhere an ork holding up a full body height shield, with a space marine profile painted on the front of the shield. Looked like solid camouflage to me.
