This question came up recently:

If a model has a stat line with 2 attacks, and comes equipped with a pistol and CCW does the model gain the extra attack, or is that included in the profile?
Additionally if the extra attack were included, does the model lose an attack if upgraded to a power fist?

Base is 2, +1 for bp / ccw. So 3.

The unit entry will tell you if extra attacks are included in the profile. If so it will look like this: Attacks 2(3).

Usually, it's not, and if it is included they'll tell you directly. A good example would be an IG Commissar has 2 attacks base, +1 attack for two close combat weapons, and +1 attack on the charge, giving you 4 attacks on the charge.

khorne beserkers in a csm army have 2 base attacks because the mark of khorne adds +1 attack but states its included in the profile thus giving them a base 2 attacks, then with pistol and ccw they get +1 giving 3 total.
striking scorpions in an eldar army have 1 base, mandiblaster that gives +1, and a pistol and ccw for +1. in close combat they have 3.

The bonus for 2 CCW is ONLY included if they tell you it is, and then it will refer directly to it (a point the +1A for Falchions side were struggling to recognise) as being the bonus attack for 2 CCW.
