that seriously chaps my tuckas! I know its not really that big of a deal and all. But I figure I put up with a lot from GW, price hikes, sub par codex, mini's that should have been released 5 years ago, etc etc etc...
So when I see something like this , I flip my lid.

Seriously, Dan works for GW, shouldnt he know at least the basic rules and model designs?

Combi meltas are not that uncommon, no matter what the bitz sellers what you to believe. So I would hope a GW employ would at least be able to recognize one.

This rant is full of confuse.

Your second quote is from the text referring to a Kor'sarro Khan conversion further down the article, not the combi melta.

Plus the "combi-melta", on first inspection, doesn't actually look like one.
The bolter's barrel looks like it's part of the Meltagun barrel, not a separate part.

Kan, while that may be true, its based on a basic bolter, that alone should be enough of a give-away to them.

So if he is so well versed in GW mini recognition, how can he not know a combi melta when he sees it? Even if it is a converted one.
Yes I know people make mistakes. I do it all the time. On the other hand I am not publishing it on the WWW while representing a Major(well Middling) international corperation. Especialy when it is such a stupid mistake.

Indeed. The Bolter "barrel" looks more like the targeting piece over a Bolter's barrel more than anything else.

@Kan: My Brain recognized it as a combi-melta imediatly, for what thats worth.

How about because at a quick glance, given the angle it's sitting on, it looks more like a meltagun than a combiweapon?
