so, Orks have been dethroned as to the fewest models they can have in a legal force.

Orks could do 2 Bik Meks and 2 Deffdreds. 4 models=legal force

GKs have Lord Draigo and 2 units of 1 palidin each. 3 models=legal force.

even sadder still, the army can be 500 points

Draigo

1 Palidin(Apothecary, Warding Staff)

1 Palidin(Warding Staff)

500 points on the money.

Have fun getting massacred?

But yeah, that is definitely the lowest model count army - and no one can beat it. 3 is the absolute lowest.

You could probably also make an entire 1000 point army with one box of converted terminators (with one as Draigo and 4 units of 1 Paladin each).

No SS for the converted draigo

That was one thing i didn't like about the changes. no SS terminators. then again, Force Swords+SS would equal a statistical impossability for anything to kill terminators in CC.

a SS is pretty easily converted from plasticard (I just use plastic icecream tub lids). Still though, 80 CAD for a 1000 point army runs MUCH cheaper than any other army.

I never claimed that this was a good army

if the Palidins could take Psycannons with less then 5 guys it would be better, but would still be a horrible army.

Chaos Space Marines. No limit on the amount of spawns they get.

EDIT: Although technically Coteaz henchman spam could do the same these days...

If you ignore the "Unlimited" codexes, then the highest points is BA then IG. BA with 6 units of 30 DC, jump packs and double thunderhammers to start, and IG maxing out platoons.

Well... Draigo with full squads of kitted out paladin comes out quite expensive when each bare model is 55 points...

Nine paladins + apoth, 1 warding stave, brotherhood banner, 8 falchions, 4 psycannons, psybolt ammunition and MC EVERYTHING. This comes at the very cheap price of 910 points per unit. For six times (perhaps nine? Can you buy paladins as elite as well with draigo in game?).

Add mordrak with full kitted retinue, 445 points.

Let's say you can't take paladins as elite with draigo, that leaves us with purifiers... Full unit, 4 psycannons, falchions, stave, psybolt, digital weapons and MC weapons for the sergeant, with dedicated asscan razorback wtih psybolt ammo (Yes I could buy more, but it's already overkill I think), 450 points, x3

425 points each for 3 squads of fully kitted out interceptors.

475 For fully kitted purgation squads with asscan razorback.

Total for a full FoC GK arrmy without relying on "infinite slots" tricks: 10.230 points.

I think even a full platoons IG army would have a hard time beating that.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ow. I stand correct... GKs barely make it to over halfway up =/
Though perhaps if we want to correct that chart we may have to add full upgrades to the razorbacks... That's 366 points more, for a total of 10.596 points
Honorable mention to the GKGM that with full upgrades can stand, as a single model, at 425 points

Gecko - as youve found, little comes close to IG or BA

BA do it by having 30 models that cost 65 points (from memory) each per unit of troops. Something like 12k just in troops

IG Platoons can be insanely large, and insanely expensive.

Ok that much I can get... But how the hell can normal space marines cost more than GKs?
Edit: also, GKs get slightly higher points... If you take a kitted inqui + a full jokaero henchmen warband mounted on razorback you use more points than mordrak... 734 points total, for a +289 points difference, for a total of 10885 points. This should bump em at 6th place over CSM.

Probably biker captain with full biker troops, terminators with dedicated LRs, jump pack vanguards and something else.

At least I guess so... Terminators with dedicated land raiders can help close the gap, but at 910 points per paladin squad I doubt biker troops can cost that much...

slightly more costly but you can get 73 models in a gk army with coteaz + 6 full squads of naked acolytes, at exactly 388 points. Legality of the army while taking more than 6 choices is disputable so I don't know... If the aim is going for 500 points there's not much else you can do here, since the wording on coteaz's rules seem to imply that you cannot take warbands as elites as well... If you could you could squeeze 2 more full hench squads and one 4 man squad for exactly 500 points, bringing the total to 101 models in 500 points.

Still not bad for a "low model count" army, even if you limit yourself to 6 henchmen warbands... Ofc you would kit them in a serious list, but there's quite a lot of room there...

IG Can Do this:

CCS (5 models)
Platoon A: PCS, 2x Squad (25 Models)
Platoon B: PCS, 2x Squad, 47 Conscripts (67 models)

That's a legal force of 107 models.
