Hows it dakka, like usual i decided to leave all my painting till the night before the tournament.

I'll fill you in, 625 pt doubles tournament. I'm fielding Orks, my partner (and literal partner) is fielding her eldar. Shes a n00b but that's ok its a local friendly tournament. I also promised one of my mates i'd have a 625 pt deathwing available for him to borrow, which isn't built or painted.

So i'm gunna be updating this plog just over every hour (hour of work + time it takes to photo + Post) just to keep things interesting.

Heres some photos Just taken: The girl in them is my partner, doing some last minute skill honing. The guys a mate, he's also the enemy and is fielding an Imp Gaurd Army. Lastly a pic of some of my partners eldar which will hopefully be painted by tonight.





To Do:
Paint 1 entire Fully converted Eldar Army: Comprising of one Farseer, 10 rangers, 5 howling banshees and a wraithlord.
Build + Paint 11 Terminators (1 belial converted from Calgar)
Build + Paint 1 Warboss, and around 20 - 30 boys.

Just built 5 terminators + Belial, just another 5 to go + add forgeworld deathwing shoulder pads to my belial squad.

seems nice! now get to painting! naww i kid get them all built first, then paint.

haha will do, just going to the supamarket get some good batteries, built all terminators bar 3 shoulder pads and 4 heads.

Then i'll be priming both terminators and eldar, orks are rough as gutz they dont need no prima!

approx 6 hours left.

this is gonna be fun.

alright next update, kinda delayed work to watch scott pilgrim (forgive me forum). Completed all 11 terminators, plus my partner has joined the fight (an invaluable de-mould liner).

Just fixing anything before priming, mould lines, glue stains etc.

Also, runny nose, energy drink induced headache + soretooth, this is deffinatly the night before tournament.

Its serious tabacco time, forgetting the crucial part of basing, I use a textured paint I buy from the art shop, gives the effect of a saltbed sorta desert type, refer to deathwing test model above. Once thats all dry I can finally bloody prime.

Concerning orks, im revising my list (tournament requires list on day, not before hand) so I can change it to suit my needs, for example im struggling to find something ridiculous like 20 ork heads (dont ask how they disappeared) so I might wind down my ork list from 60 boys to around 40 w/ warboss, meganobs and trukk.

Alright update: Primed everything bar orks (although i might cheat and use already painted models for the tourne)

First coat of devlun on everything, most useful wash ever. Also my partner painting eldar, god i love women and warhammer.





It's now 12:30 at night, fatigue is setting in but we will succeed, over and out.

Final push, mate. Am keeping an eye on this one as i work (its lunchtime over here). Salute you on the girlfriend comment - i should just be thankful mine settles on calling me a geek and moaning about messing up the living room, but at least she lets me get on with modelling. Am looking forward to seeing how this works pans out, only partially cos it'll mean i'm that much closer to clocking off!

Alright dakka you win, I yield. (currently making alternative decisions to fulfill painting requirements)

We did however manage to finish the eldar to a based 3 colour min standard, although the ring of the bases is supposed to be painted black it will do fine as is.

As for Deathwing, we primed, we basecoated but we just couldnt break the 3 colours. This means $5 dollar penalty which for sleep i am willing to pay.

I have plenty of painted orks so im fine in that department, and all the work we did tonight can be built on for future tournaments, there in no way fully finished.

However, it is now 2:30 Am and the tournament starts at 9 Am, so were hitting the hay. Keep an eye on this thread tommorow as ill post results and pictures of the event.

The 35d colour is the weapons boltgun and wash it down.

haha i considered it, but that deathwing is going to be my official tournament army so I didn't really want to rush it. It past without painting penalty however apparently deathwings pretty much all that colour anyway.

As for first game, we (orks and eldar) lost by a turn (meaning turn 6 would have put more troops on objectives, and enemy warboss squashed our farseer who was our walking objective).

Quite pleased with my nob bikers + bikeboss combo, 2 nobs + Painboy + Warboss on bike killed 2 tactical squads, a dreadnought, a chaplain and 3 meganobs. Don't have photos as I left the SD card at home :< but its lunch so ill get some afterwards.
