Earlier my computer got a virus from WArseer and is currently spamming ads on my desktop. I can't find the virus with AVG and I'm currently ****ed.

I ignored Google Chrome telling me Warseer was infected and hacked and went to the site anyway. I DO NOT RECOMMENDED making the same mistake I did.

It seems Warseer is currently down. Was it brought down completely by the virus?

Im starting to think GW doesnt want us to have all this leaked information about their production and have sent in the Warp Daemons team to stop the usually confirmed rumors......

They barely do information on the Internet.

They're not going to start 'hacking' sites because they have rumors.

Get Malwarebytes -- best out there. I've been to warseer recently but am not infected thankfully. Thanks for the heads up though.

Try Malwarebytes ( http://malwarebytes.org/ ). If that doesn't help then try a dedicated techforum ( http://forums.majorgeeks.com/ helped me the last time i had a serious virus problem ).

According to Google, their last visit to the site did not find the suspicious content. Still, it's better to be safe than sorry.

OK, own up, which member of dakka has been downing other sites?

Just gave it a quick look, my virus protector is damn sexy, it should be, I payed £80 for it, and warseer APPEARS to be back up and virus free.

Hmmm, going to need to shift a few of my auto login's over to Firefox on the work PC.

To be fair, should have done that ages ago, just been lazy.

It stopped setting off alarms, then started again for me. There still hasn't been more suspicious content found by Google, and a post by one of the techs says the code was removed over two hours ago, so I don't know why that happened.

Warseer was cited just another external source as giving out malware but now it seems google chrome is saying Warseer itself is a primary source of malware. The virus operates by infecting sites from external sources and then converting them into infesters as well.

Warseer is now literally a malware site. Unless they reboot the entire site from a backup I don't see how they can remove this. DO NOT GO TO WARSEER

According to what I've seen about this attack, this is wrong. Even if you visited Warseer while it was compromised, all that would happen is that you'd be redirected to another website that pretends to be Windows Explorer, to try to scare you into downloading and installing the malware. Don't fall for the trick, and you're safe.

Well firefox is still telling me to stay clear, and until that changes I'll be avoiding.
