This reads as a nooB list, too many upgrades and very little stream-lining. Still, I'll get the pruning sheers out.

Double check the Special Issue items, Stims and Irid- they're only one per army. So, your the whole unit is illegal. And since neither the Stims nor Irid are that great, just split 'em off to be their own single suit units. Maybe keep stims on the HQ. And always, try to keep XV8s in the smallest units possible, to enhance the ability to hide with JSJ, and to decrease the enemy's ability to catch you in h2h.

I'd ditch the FB and just have a focused anti-Infantry unit. Splitting the purpose here makes them 'eh' at both anti-T and anti-I. And other posters will tell you Stealths suck. Not so much, but since they take the place of XV8s, they aren't worth it in a larger list, when a superior Crisis Suit or two or three can be put in the Stealths' place.

Spines are kinda silly given the DisPod provides cover. Add Target Lock so the BCs shoot infantry and the RG bangs tanks.

MLs in FW units aren't too worth it, given the FWs are often moving for Rapid Fire fun, or back pedaling away from h2h.

Always try to get below the points limit, and given some of the cuts I mentioned, easily done.

Overall, trim your list to 750, with one unit of FWs out, and the other cuts. Keep the kroot. You'll find you have a better list at 750, than this "pushed" one at 1k.

I have nothing to add to what Brother Erekose says, except one thing on the crisis suits.

Don't get bodyguards until you fill out your Elites slots completely with suits. Normal xv8s are 10 points cheaper than the 'vres.

Whichever they are, I'm not on the Reich ones, clearly.

+1

Also, kudos for gambling on the CIB. I love the gun, and it's nice to see someone else putting it to use.

/sigh
One of these days new tau players will get the idea that shield drones and CIB's are bad.

Ohh, and stealthsuits.

So Rocky, tau generally win by taking as many guns as possible. That means anything that isn't a gun should go unless it's totally ridiculous (like d-pods). That's especially so at 750. In this format you have to be extremely points efficient, so you not only can't afford to take defensive list choices (things that don't have guns), you also have to take the most efficient guns you can. That means cutting things like the CIB for cheaper weapons. I don't know if the format you're planning on playing in has special rules, but I'll assume they don't.

First, cut down your HQ a lot. There's still a lot of extraneous wargear that's only defensive in choice. You can save a lot of points by trimming alll that fat. ditto for the stealthsuits--they're really just point sinks. They don't do anything other than shoot at infantry, and that's a job Crisis suits can do better at longer range. At this point level, I don't know that you have the points for a hammerhead, but I'll try to fit it in.

Here's what I've got:

--HQ-- 750/750

1 Shas'el 73
-TL Missile Pod
-Target Lock

--Elites--

3 Crisis Suit 159
-TL Missile Pod x3
-Targeting Array x3

3 Crisis Suit 159
-TL Missile Pod x3
-Targeting Array x3

3 Crisis Suit 159
-TL Missile Pod x3
-Targeting Array x3

--Troops--

6 Fire warriors 60

10 Kroot Carnivores 70

10 Kroot Carnivores 70

Well I couldn't fit a railhead in as it put me 6 points over, but I think this list would work great. You have a bunch of S7 missile pod shots and you can infiltrate your kroot into good positions to protect your suits. Then you just reserve the fire warriors and hope they stay off the board. I think this will work better for you, especially because you'll have a better chance to beat things like grey hunter rhino/razorback rush and whatnot (that crazily exists even at this points level).

Hope that helps Rocky,

Knute
