Hey guys I was in Chicago for the Adepticon Event and I had a blast. I didn't get to really do battle reports like I wanted though. =/ However here is some write up about the first two games for you guys. More to come.

http://emperorscodex.blogspot.com/2011/04/adepticon-championship-pt1.html

I met a ton of guys but honestly I didn't get to meet many of the Dakka Dakka guys I was hoping to shake hands with a few like Hulksmash, Redbeard, and Reecius but really I didn't know who they are aside from a screen name so I didn't know who to randomly intro myself too lol. Perhaps at another event. =P

Edit Pt 2 added

I always love seeing your army in these reports, it is beautifully painted and the conversions are well executed. Sounds like you pulled two pretty difficult army match-ups regardless of the dice - IG and 'Nids are always pretty tough for Demons.

Thanks Eagleboy always good to know people enjoy the reports!

Nids are currently my toughest match up I think, with Vulkan libby marines shortly after. Although I really believe that you shouldn't mind any army match up if your list is balanced (well not counting the new knights who I am sure are now my hardest match up. lol) I don't mind matching up against IG or Space wolves normally and I don't know if that's my play style or if all demon players feel that way? I am going to try some list tweaks before I go to my next event and see if the list feels a little more solid and hopefully is a little bit more balanced VS NIDS.

The inclusion of fiends, screamers and T.heralds defiantly gives you a leg up over the standard demons list. I also play demons, but with a very typical demons type build and IG & Craftworld Eldar have always been my worst match-ups. All that S6 firepower just puts the hurt on the Greater Demons & just about everything in the army in general.

BAM! You also got one more follower for your blog

Thanks Mannahnin Hopefully I can do better next year. =P I will be making some list tweaks shortly after playing several games and with the new Knights coming out I think several demon players will either make a few adjustments or shelf the army.

I'm not sure I like the format that abandons turn-by-turn, but I'm assuming you did it for a reason, and in the end the reports were still very enjoyable.

I personally liked your last batch of reports though. The tactically-minded, turn-by-turn write-ups were a lot of fun to read.

I'm sorry to hear your dice ran off on you! Seeing as your chaos though, its not too surprising. Ah well, good luck next year.

@Cypher

The format isn't really that of a battle report. They are just quick over views I was completely tired playing so not only did I not get as many photos as I normally would to help follow along with the turn by turn, but also several pictures I took didn't turn out well. (Blurry or out of focus etc...) However I still wanted to post up some over view stuff to share with the community about my trip and games. Glad you like my normal format I plan on using that still for future reports. =P

My next tourney is CAG mid May but if I get any practice games in before then I will post them up here. Sadly though as you can see from my late reply to your post here I am super busy at the moment away from the gaming tables. Thanks for the feedback though. =)

Well then the different format is completely understandable. And I can relate to being busy. Hope everything settles down enough for you to get great pics at CAG so we can get another great set of battle reports.

@Cypher I had family stuff come up and instead of leaving the day before in the morning, I had to make the drive all night and sleep a few hours then get up and play lol. The next tourney is local so pictures shouldn't be a issue. =)

@Randy
I have been testing them in several ways and I know the internets say they are the suxors, but honestly so far I have really liked them. Keep in mind they are a support unit so at a min squad size they are only like 48 points, they can contest, they are mobile cover, they can tie up a small unit from time to time believe it or not, nobody ever tank shocks through them, and they are enough of a threat that people can't ignore them. They add a little balance against land raiders to my list which I also enjoy and if you do shoot at them instead of something else being they are so cheap that is a win to me. (nothing annoys like shooting at three who have cover then go to ground and live) =) I really look at them as war gear and more often than not I consider them just another shot at taking out vehicles that I didn't have before. Even when you need 6's to hit, if you hit you are usually going to pen.

After testing them I honestly think having a larger squad is the way to go. I think at least 5 is nice well see what I end up being able to squeeze into my list when I make a few changes. slight learning curve for me personally. If you mess up they can be a super easy KP though lol.

@Smitty
