Hey infilTRAITOR,

I was just wonedring whether you thought 1:35 or 1:48 was the best for believable sizes for use in 40k.

Only asking cos' i was think of picking up a couple of m12 155mm for use as bassies. Which scale works best? Cheers.

Well it's not actually a Tiger 1, it has the same turret but uses the same chassis/hull as the Elephant. They only made a handful of these effectively as prototypes before going on to make the standard Tiger 1. It's a good choice for a fantasy model because it looks unusual, if it was a straight Tiger 1 it would look too much like the source material.

Too small to be a Warhound. Using it as a Heavy MBT to go alongside my Gladiator MBT. Remember, Hitler likes to spoon.

I use 1/35. Some say 1/48 is best but I think they look piddly. I've seen the kit you're looking at in 1/35 scale. It's bigger than a Basilisk by about two inches.

Give this man a daemon-cookie! It's a Porsche (hence the P) Tiger I. His versions were superior to the Henschel version but cost far too much to build per unit so Henschel won the contract to make them in mass.

NEVAH!!! And thank you.

UPDATE!!

Well, I have the week off from Uni. to do lots of reading. I've done that, managed to read Cadian Blood, Blood Pact and Innocence Proves Nothing since Sunday. Am supposed to be reading up on the British Home Front in Dubya Dubya Two but, in an effort not to sound too arrogant, I'm lightyears ahead of what they're teaching so I'm catching up with my 40k.

I've built a lot this week and have almost finished base-coating all the militiamen I have. Nothing worthy of picture snappage, mind. My Bits and Kits order came yesterday so I could finally finish building my Alphas!!!

This is my Havoc in the killteam.

And this is the Tactical.

Like I said, no-where near completed. What you see is merely basecoating done. Got to start on detailing and weathering later. I also need some help with these as I need a name for the squad.

My ForgeWorld order arrived yesterday but I was out fixing my exhaust so I have to travel 40miles to pick it up from the UPS depot in Southampton so I'm gonna pop into the GW there and play with their minds. Also, still waiting on my Hoard O'bits order but that's coming in from Americaland

Thanks for the advice ifilTRAITOR. I was gonna go with 1:35 anyway. If its too big i can always use it as a Minotaur!!

The Alphas look amazing but i don't know much about that Legion so i cant think of a name for you!

So, my ForgeWorld order came through today. Ordered it last Friday and it's here in less than a week. WTF!! That's fast. Guy at GW Southampton was even impressed.

Elysian squad with chutes for my Disciples of Xanthan squad (storm troopers for my Valkyrie)

Renegade Heavy Stubber team. Simply awesome.

Renegade militia arms. Just 'cos.

Also, friendly chap at GW Southampton gave me some Alpha Legion transfers as I seem to have misplaced mine. Well, I've not seen them for 10 years so I can only assume they're somewhere.

Sanchez, I've found my notepad with my initial list. Just typing it up into Word and rearranging a few things. Give me the weekend and I'll have it up.

I've built two of my Disciples of Xaphan. Also sprayed the Heavy Stubber team. One may say I try to do too many things as once. I say the are correct and that I am a fool.

This squad is to be my quick strike unit. I am mounting them in the Valkyrie in order to race to objectives at the beginning of matches and hold them until my mechanised can come and reinforce. I expect these fellas to die. A lot. But that's dedication!

Hrm. The Alpha Legion are very interesting. Will there be hints of green in their final paint scheme? Or will they be left predominantly dark blue?

The two Xaphans look absolutely great. Really clever combination of parts (especially the Necron heads, but I know where you 'borrowed' that idea from!). Really looking foward to seeing those go through the painting/dirtying stage.

Keep up the good work

LIES! FILTHY EARTHCHILD LIES!!! I'm sure Slann will forgive me for stealing his idea. Not gonna give it back.

Alphas will have a lot more green when they're done. Just about to add a rust layer then paint on some watered down scorpion green.

Thank you. Thinking of naming the squad "Infinite Death" and using this on their shoulder guards:

They will look more uniform compared to my militiamen as they are a former Imperial Stormtrooper squad who have aligned themselves willingly to Chaos (which is why they count as Disciples of Xaphan in the Vraks rules) and giving them an assassin look.

I swear i was litearally just about to buy elysian stuff and a valk to do renegade paratroopers. Now it won't be original.

Those disciples are made of pure win, amazing. Its funny how the FW stuff is all the same scale. It looks like the elysian stuff was made to go with the renegade arms.

Also, when i ordered my FW Model Masterclass it got there in 2 days so
