Most of the wargamers I know are not fat as per the stereotype, but very small, or underweight.
No hate here but that is massively underweight, if you were 5ft 8 that could be considered athletic but at your height you would need to be over 300 pounds.
Hardly mate... World class Locks such as Joe Launchbury and Courtney Lawes of the English national rugby team are 117 and 118 kg respectively... That's only 257-260 lbs. not your ridiculous 300.

And sadly jprp, I would call your muscles largely useless, as I doubt you could hold up to an 80+ minute rugby match (and at that weight, you'd undoubtedly be in the forward pack, having numerous scrums which take a LOT out of you)
Yes, body builders are a type of athletic, but as has been pointed out, not the ONLY type. I have also repeatedly seen that "fat" guy in the gym outlifting the body builder type because he isn't actually fat, but in actuality a power lifter, and does Strong Man events, which require a different set/style of muscles than yours do.

My muscles? You realise that none of those pics is me right? ( lol) The first guy is strongman/rugby player/MMA fighter. 2nd guy is a Wrestler over 400 pounds but still capable of doing backflips. I did say that 210 would be ok for a 5ft8 guy, i know several guys that height or shorter who play Rugby and are in the 210-240 range but at 6ft6 you need some weight to fill out such a long frame. I looked up one of the Rugby guys named above and he was a lanky streak of P, more like a Football player (soccer), Traditionally rugby players have been of heavier build than this, and im not a Basket Ball fan but there are plenty of guys 300 plus in that game.
I will repeat- No hate intended on the poster but i was saying that body weight at that height is thin rather than muscular/athletic.
This guy is about 6ft 6 and 350.

I did not And, there are some larger Lock (super tall) type rugby players. Samu Manoa (who is an outstanding/hard hitting rugby player who plays either lock or loose forward) runs between 270 and 280. I will still maintain that different types of athletic endeavors require a different body type/size. While I may make a good front row forward in Rugby, I'd be SOL in a marathon, and I certainly won't be on a stage at a body building comp lol. I also completely understand as an athlete what it takes to maintain the sort of physique of that bodybuilder that you posted.

Probably the most overall "usefull" type of physiques belong to gymnasts, most of which are short-now if you scale them up to 6ft 6 i think we would get way over 210.

To be honest ill have to show some predjudice here as i dont consider distance runners to have a physique at all, to me they are just skinny, many sprinters and hurdlers (remember john Regis?) are very athletic in build though - same sort of thing with swimmers, some short distance swimmers and specialists (eg butterfly) pack some fairly serious muscle where as most distance swimmers (males anyway) are thinner.
Most are not 6.5 ft tall though, and a natural guy with a slim middle and no development would probably be minimum 250+ at that height.

Shouldn't Americans be limited to the overweight to morbidly obese options?
The same goes for the English. I visited England last year,
and oh dear... English people are fat! (well not all of them obviously but a huge lot more compared to continental Europe)

If that's really the case then how does one explain why England's rugby team is consistently so much better than France's... and the rest of continental Europe has such gak rugby?

3 out of 3 of those are sissy sports (unless one is combining ice skating with a stick and puck to play hockey)

Well I chose other (mostly because I'm not sure if I'm technically overweight) but I'm 6'2" at 215 lbs with 6.4% body fat. I play club hockey and baseball and in Army ROTC so I stay a little more active than many others I play with.

Well, this is an interesting little thread that a bout of insomnia caused me to stumble upon... Frankly, there doesn't appear (from what I can see) to be any one particular shape or size that defines gamers - variety is the spice of life after all!
Personally, I'm 5"11 and currently circa 12st/170lb (178cm/75ish kg for those metrically inclined) so I've put myself in the 'normal weight' category. A couple of years back I tipped the scales over 14 1/2 stone, and that plus other reasons gave me a minor mid life crisis so I hit the gym and dropped to 11 1/2 - although everyone then said I was looking under weight - you can't win lol.
I wish I could claim a killer six pack and pecs etc but sadly as I hurtle towards the big four oh, I doubt that's ever going to be achieved.
As I minor diversion from the main topic, I'd be interested to know if there are many other LGBT folk out there....

I'm gonna put normal weight. At 6'2 and 225lbs the Army BMI puts me at 25% bodyfat and says I'm overweight. But a normal physician clocked me a 15-16%. strange how that worked out...

The US Army and DODs height/weight standards were created in the 50s and 60s, when men were generally lighter/leaner than they are now. With the progression of workouts, nutrition etc, we naturally have more mass than previous generations. Until fairly recently these standards screwed me over a ton (the size of my neck being my one saving grace).... Looking forward to a few weeks from now, when my MEB is done, Im out of the army, and can worry more about actual fitness than how my neck/waist ratio is.
