more work done on the Avatar, and I'm a little surprised at how quickly (and well!) it's going... but having said that, I haven't even thought about any of the fiddly details yet.
You can see where I'll probably go back in with some more white to fill some gaps, but on the whole, looking pretty good : )

Avatar progress. All the orange and red done, starting on the last of the Charadon... will hopefully manage to get that done today (post afternoon nap), then I can start thinking bronze for the armour.

That's all the bodywork done I think. I might go back in and do a bit more work on the back of the neck/collar tomorrow, but other than that he's looking pretty good. I'll do the white in the cracks tomorrow too, getting a bit tired and sloppy to do it tonight!

I have been working on an entire Ork army and it takes me a to paint since I am so picky about how they look..The project I am about to finish is my Big Mek with KFF. But it has no where near the cool special effect that your Avatar has...Also Watched my Tron Bluray and thought of you!

there should be more Tron-inspired Eldar about! *Obviously* I'm going to be getting the Forgeworld Corsairs kit, and I've already been thinking about doing them black with a single glowing orange stripe on them
Never painted any orks (can't think why not), but they do strike me as being fairly fiddly critters - good luck : )

more done on the Avatar, and I think I may have a little bit of Avatar Fatigue, but I'll push on through!
The bronze was a bit of a chore to do as it doesn't go on too cleanly, but got there in the end. This is just the basecoat and a wash of Badab Black. Next will be highlights of bronze, then gold to give it a nice, rich burnished look.

I highlighted some of the bronze this afternoon - it's going to be a loonnngggg job... laziness is tempting me to leave it as the dirty bronze but I'll stand firm! I don't want to get rid of the shadowing completely, so it'll still look fairly dark. Not looking forward to all the gem brackets though...

gem brackets done - nowhere near as painful as I'd feared. Right leg = highlighted; left leg = unhighlighted. Not too much difference between the two really...
Also first forearm highlighted up - again, it's not all that obvious, but I think the effort is worth it, it does make a difference to the washed/dirty bronze.
I'm thinking about doing the chestplate (wraith)bone to have a bit of a contrast from the bronze...

Don't give up. You're doing a truly spectacular job! I love the bronze on magma look and the amount of time you're taking is really apparent. Keep it up. Imho your effort seems well worth it. You're nearing the completion of yet another amazing looking model! Props!

the wash might be too transluscent... I think it's the random element that seems scary with this part...
(having just done a little bit of visual research, most of the Avatars done don't have bloody hands... hmmm)
