thank you : )
I do like the Eldar walkers, but they serve a seperate function... plus I'm just way too autistic/ocd to let a walker be called a wasp - wasps fly! ; )

Yep, you've inspired me to paint up a few of the eldar units I have lying around. I especially like the xmen uniforms, but truly, your whole blog is great. Mad props!

Ok, I shudder at the thought of cutting into a Forgeworld Eldar model, but I've always been told since I was a little kid that "If your going to do something, do it right."
So with that thought in mind, why not try this instead, it will require very precise cutting on your part but the end result will be worth it. once you have removed the wings and pulsar, begin cutting a trench into the cut edge of the wings, deep enough that you'll be able to insert a large piece of thick plasticard and pin it into place from the underside of the wing. Then do the same for the main body, this trench will have to deeper and longer than the one in the wings, enough for you to be able to insert the plasticard into the main body and use a lg(ish) rivet pin, one that has a flat or slightly rounded head. Now dress up the edge of the plasticard with some kind of GS design, magnetize the body and the pulsar, and you will be able to have this thing start out as a flyer, land on the table at which point the wings fold forward into their "normal" position, and it now acts like a Skimmer tank. in this way, you'll still be able to use the model as an Eldar super heavy Lynx, but can also use it as an Eldar flyer.

looks good dude, but the black faceplates are messing up the clean rectangular blocks. maybe do them in a dark grey instead?

test for what I want to do with my Avatar. Nothing terribly innovative - I want him to look like he's made out of vocanic rock/metal with a molten core.
I think it needs more red on it. Not sure about the cracks, whether to have them yellow or white. It's deceptive at the moment as the yellow wash is pretty distracting. Hard to imagine that the finished piece will actually be pretty dark.

I really like this muted orange with black. I especially like the wraithguard as I think they're one of my favourite units in the game. My eldar are on the shelf until the new codex but this blog gives me a lot of inspiration on how to finish my orange predominant craftworld.

They do indeed, but serpents and cobras do not. Doesn't force you to put wheels/legs on the Eldar vehicles named after them, does it? The Wasp Assault Walker is more of a jumper anyway, but it nonetheless looks plain weird and unfinished without its legs. Also, you could easily remedy the bright lances by twisting the barrels, or even just their tips, 180 degrees. As is they look eyecatchingly goofy.

Charadon Granite over the red, and some white in the cracks - I like the white, but I'll probably neaten it up a bit with some yellow along the transitions
