FYI Brightlances are upside down. Or is that the only way they fit?

Is the Wasp a full resin kit?

he's right, you have the brightlances upside down.
and why did you drill a hole in the middle of the guardians guts, did you magnetize them? if so i'd like to see the magnet in the weapon as this could maybe help me solve the problem i have of weapons popping off every now and then when their loaded into their case.

yeah, I know the 'lances are upside down, sadly that was the only way they'd fit, not that it bothers me too much.

I didn't drill a hole in them (or magnetise them) - I got the more basic Guardians wher you only have to stick the backpack on and then the weapon arm has a peg on it that slots into the belly. Nice and simple, if perhaps a little less dynamic than the other Guardians. Did the trick with this technique though.

Quite impressive. I need to ask, how do you flock grass?

grass - I've just got the standard grass in a tub from GW. I water down some PVA glue, put that on the base (fairly heavily) and then place the flock on the base with some tweezers, turn the mini upside down and give the bottom of the base a few taps to get rid of the excess and leave it to dry; that's it : )

(I do the sand first, before I undercoat the mini, and just do a coat of black wash and then a coat of Devlan)

[I have to admit that I'm fairly lazy when it comes to bases, I need to put more effort into them... not entirely sure how I'd go about that - I guess moving onto bigger, more display-type bases...?]

This is a great thread, your Eldar look beautiful.

Makes me want to tackle something with a more vivid paint scheme than my current projects.

sometimes I think that the stronger/brighter colours are more forgiving than simpler ones...

The wasp looks great! Though if you plan on doing another I suggest putting the aerial peg at a slight angle to give it a sense of motion. Other than that fantastic work

looks really nice. 1 question though, why'd you decide not to put the legs on the model and instead make it look like a skimmer?
consider the idea stolen BTW, as i like the way it looks as a skimmer, and it will go very well with the my jetbikes and tanks like that.

I just thought a Wasp should be a skimmer/flyer rather than a jumper... that'd make it a grasshopper, right? ; )

LMAO. you have a point there, and maybe Forgeworld should have thought of that when they named this thing, and instead of Wasp, could have called it a Mantis or something just as deadly that actually walks around. At any rate I really do like the looks of this thing as a skimmer, and from what i see here with just a little more work it could be turned into an MKI version NightWing, so I will definitely be using this idea in the future.

Back into Guardian mode with the next squad - simply reversed the colours... not entirely sure how I like it so far, I think I like more dark, but we shall see!
A little bit of tidying up to do on the top of the body stripe and the soul gem : )

Have you explained the hole in the chest ? Because if not colour me curious.

it's the more basic Guardian spru, there's only three bits to it - legs, torso, left arm and head is one piece, and then the right arm + weaopn and left hand is the second and the backpack is the third. The hole in the chest is where the peg for the arm goes.
I got these ones for ease of assembly basically, and it allows me to do everything, then just paint the weapon arm seperately then whack it on after I'm done. A lot less fiddly.

@Finnan -The second scheme seems like it's going to look just as good as the first squad, nice painting dude. BTW, have you seen the new Forgeworld Eldar stuff that will be avaliable on Games Day? The new Phantom Titan, a WraithSeer model, and a group of Corsair models will all be on sale soon. There's a thread for it here on Ddakka, with pics.

lol
the side of me that sees nice, shiny, new things says, "Hell yes! Get it now, get it now, get it now!"

the side of me that struggles to finish painting a Wraithlord says, "Whoa, nelly! That thing's fecking HUGE!"

... so I might have to practice on a revenant first LOL

Wow, that Wasp is brilliant! I absolutely love how compact but functional it looks. And it really suits the eldar much more than primitive "walking".
