Hi Joe

I've missed so much:( Hows it going?

The new dread is looking very nice. The use of the dreadnought force weapon mod is great, the banner pole is looking cool, can't wait to see this one painted.

Hey Tipios!

Really cool to see you're back!
Everything's going fine but slowly!

I still have a lot to do but not enough time for it. What about you?

@Yggdrasil: believe me, I enjoyed it!

For my next GSing session I'll try to make a mold of the Thousand Sons helmets to adapt the egyptian part to terminators helmets.

Cheers!

Joe

I've never seen anything like that before, awesome idea! Really looking forward to seeing it!

The least we can say is that Moonshine is a man of taste!

@moonshine: thanks man!

@tipios: we missed your awesome conversions! I hope everything's fine for you now and that you'll be able to provide us more great ideas (any chance to see more about your CSMs?)

@skalk: I've only made a full GS two parts mold once, to make replacement backpacks for a Sisters of battle squad, the results were rather random, but I think I have the necessary skills now (and my last experience with silicon was more than encouraging). The technique will be roughly the same as described in this tuto:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/242040.page
The only thing that will really be different will be the materials (milliput as the modelling clay and GS to replace both silicon and resin)

Now I must wait to have enough free time to make it.

Just going back a bit on this blog, and your standing defiler is awesome, how long did that take?? and the scorpion chap is cool to, where did you get that? I have started a thousand son terminator lord, just this second, so if it goes ok I will put pics up. Once I get back into the flow, I will finish those raptors, and I hope that the friedly pimp my sorcerer compo will get me back into the full swing again

Hey there!

It's time for an update!

I haven't had much time for modelling these last weeks and I made no progress with the ongoing projects.
Yet I managed to assemble some models:
Death guard vehicles:

And demons of Tzeentch:

I've also worked on making GS bits for my Thousand Sons termies:

I hope to be able to post pics of the first termie soon.

Cheers!

Joe

Well the Standing defiler took me a loooong time (not because it was a complicated job, but because I shelved it too long otherwise it would be a 3 full modelling days job.), The other one was built in an afternoon. It's a basic kitbash between the Soul Grinder and the new WHFB Necrosphynx kit.
I can't wait to see your new project (and to see the progress on the older ones )

Looking forward to the corrupted defilement of those vehicles slotted for Death Guard. And the Thousand Sons helms are going to look great!

...

Wait. Nurgle and Tzeentch?

WOw. I love the work you did on both the dread and the termis. Great conversion work. Cant wait to see more, PLUS i am so going to send a link of this thread to one of my best foes. He plays nothing but 1000 sons and will love it. Thanks.

Sweet looking Daemon Prince, where does that head come from?

Games Workshop: Ruining Chaos Space Marines since 2007

First they raised prices on the Eldar, and I did not speak out because I did not play Eldar.

Then, they raised prices on the Orks, and I did not speak out because I did not play Orks.

Then, they raised prices on the Nids, and I did not speak out because I did not play Nids.

Then, they raised prices on the Marines, and there was nobody to speak out for me.

Thank you all guys!

@Tipios and GiraffeX: I really like your work on TS too!

@ Moltar: I've never been a huge fan of horned CSMs unless to give them a barbarian look. The average horned CSM heads are ridiculous IMO.

@Sennacherib: Thanks a lot! If your friend is interested in the technique I've used, I'd be glad to help him.

I'm planning to give my termies some good old power fists (not really esthetic, but effective in game!) and perhaps the termie sorceror staff for the champion. I won't put the trophy racks on their back because they would seem out of place on
a Thousand Son. I don't know what shooting weapons I should give them for the moment.

A la prochaine!

Joe
edit:
@Spartan089: the heads are from the Abberation Prime kit (from Rakham) you can still find some on ebay.

Wow! I didn't know exactly what to expect, I knew it would be excellent, but THAT is awesome! I really respect your ingenuity and craftsmanship. "One size fits all" Terminators might be ok for some legions, but something so distinct as Thousand Sons needed exactly what you did here. Looking forward to seeing this painted up!

Thank you Skalk!

Good news for the sorcerer dread: I've finally received the plastic chaos stars I needed to work on it (I'm going to do something similar to what I did with the sonic dread's armor plates.)
I've also got some nurgle vehicles icons for my Death Guard Rhinos and the heads to complete the Thousand Sons termies squad.

I hope to be able to do something on Friday.

A la prochaine!

Joe

No, I had not seen these russians TS termies yet (I knew their regular TS converting kit however). These kits are wonderful (pricey, but wonderful) and I really wish I had the budget for it!

Thanks for your comments guys, the second termie is on its way and since I have my evening just for me (My wife and my daughter are on holidays) I'll try to prepare enough bits to finish the squad. If I have enough time, I might also start to work on my WHFB sorceror for Panic's PIMP MY SORCERER 40K contest (turning the Chaos sorceror to a dark mechanicus magos).

Thanks Vitruvian!

I just made a GS mold

I've got my WHFB sorceror during my lunch break today, and I can't wait to be home to start working on the magos (I already have somethnig precise in mind!).

No news about the Necrodefiler (lack of time) but as soon as I will have enough time to build the engine, I'll finish it.
