I was thinking of making more practical changes. Like redoing the main gun to the turret, and the gatling gun to the front armor plate, higher up on the glacis plate not so low as the original, you really can see that the animators had little practical experience with that design laid out like that. The turret is certainly big enough to support the big gun.

i think thats quite a good idea for a conversion...logic and more tasteful than the original...the smaller guns dont need that much height anyway whereas the big gun need that as it needs amo^^

I was just looking at he main gun, while it would butcher the kit too much to remove all of the main gun parts from the hull, I can leave a part of it there and green stuff shrouding for the machine gun in the bow, and make it look "flexible" fr dealing with terrain.

I can also make the Main gun work as a Turret mounted gun as the turret is tall enough to let me do it! Then it will be a worthy "cross country" vehicle.

do you know if the thing comes on sprue or will it have rather big components that need only glueing together?
if i recall correctly the oldcrow models are nearly one part isn´t it?

This 1/48 scale kit is sprued. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10088523n/40/1

You can see the glacis plate and the turret, and exactly what i will be working with on that tank once I have it here in my hands.

saw the bit your referring too...if you try to cut the whole maingun out this will be a major thing to do...could very well ruin the whole tank...only good it is you doing it and not me^^

i sometimea cant cut worth a damn in a straight line^^

by the way what did you pay for that model? and what scale is it 1:35 or rather 1:48?

Made in us
Rogue Inquisitor with Xenos Bodyguards

Eastern edge

With shipping, it is going to be 54USD, and is 1:48scale, closer to the right size for WH40K than 1:35th scale! AND more true scale than the monster guns of the Leman Russ, an old article says the Battle cannon is 120mm,,,,but a 1:35th scale 120 looks so scrawny compared to the battle cannon, makes me think more like a 205!

cant tell it often enough...the hobby needs more true scale vehicles than truescale marines in my opinion...the sight of too small kits makes me shiver in disgust sometimes... the whole stormraven issue or seeing apredator the sice of six standard bases cobbled together... really whats the point in cost reduction to the loss of good looking and optical working tank designs...

That is the funny thing, the tanks are all smaller than they should be, but their guns are ridiculously over-sized! the game is essentially 1:56 scale, but they make 1:35 scale weapons look so small, when it should not be that way.

If so, the Landraider would be 8' by 11'!

hmmm i would buy it out of shear machismo for the young damsel in the front...gotta love those 70ies kind of ladies back in the days...they had that special hairdo look and a look of somewhat naughty innocence you don´t get anymore these days...

concerning tha tank...reminds me somehow of the deathstar...only that it isn´t floating in space but hoovering(?) above ground level...

really cool look...man neil where do you always get those pics and the knowledge of these...? i feel like i have lived my entire life on the far side of the moon...without telly and stuff...

Neil: The show was called "Crusher Joe" in the states.
Nice Ogre or Bolo.

Vik: Yeah, not like today with that youthful "experience" and "know it all" attitude nowadays.

Ah, if the art works are scanned it can be found. Nice catch by Neil there.

the larger ones are two part hull (upper/lower).

The smaller ones (4-6 wheel) tend to be single part hulls.

Interesting to hear that! easier to build then.

My Claymores are 2 part (upper/lower hulls + wheels and accessories).
The Gecko is one part hull+wheels and accessories.
The lancer is also two part hull.
Can't recall whether the Sabre was - I did too good a job of putting it together. I think it was two part hull.

Can't say for the rest, but an email to Jez would answer many questions.

No worries, the Lancer and sabre about the same size, then I think two parts. Parts were deburred and no flash right?

Jez said about the 21st I should see them.

Yeah. Jez cleans up the castings himself before shipping.

No need to worry about removal of vents and gates, deburring or usual small crapola that FW don't seem to give a stuff about and have plastered all over their casts.

Surface was pre-keyed for painting, too.
The resin drills easily, and very cleanly (for magnetising).

Cool deal!

Yeah, you'd think for the money they charge that they would at least do something for the customers, but no, all work on you, and the stuff still needs priming after you put it together.

Nice. Not sure, I may use magnets so I can play weapon swaps. I have the Sabre/Lancer/Claymore and Dragoon on the way.

Still no Sabre yet. :(

Think I may grab a Baneblade and redo the weapons to be closer to 28mm true scale. Either that or 1;72 scale, since Im considering doing some 1:72 armor.

On a semi related front...I have a 1:72 scale Macross Officers Battle Pod, aka Battletech Marauder, on the way from Japan. Since the Macross version is bigger than the Battletech mech 1:72 allows it to fall perfectly in size with my 28mm Altas and Madcat.

Thank you for your order, which is now being processed. I aim to despatch all goods as quickly as possible, but please allow 21 days before you become concerned, especially for overseas orders.
