Nice conversion on the Libby. How difficult was it to do the head swap? O is the head not sculpted as part of it originally?

Heh, I am getting quite good at painting polished steel / silver now. I'll have to change the break-discs on my car tonight so that will eat up my time today. hopefully I'll be able to put some hours on those marines tomorrow.

@Imperial Monkey: it wasn't that hard, the model parts like a normal terminator torso so carving out the bare head was just a matter of time and patience. I detest terminator models without helmets, it's.. stupid. ''oh I am wearing the best personal armor in the galaxy, I am going to remove the bit that protects my most critical and vulnerable area, because that's a good idea!'' sheesh.. one lucky lasgun hit to the head later and it's lights out. And it's a grey knight terminator helmet from the dreadknight pilot that I had left over from a conversion.

Yes, yes and a million times yes! This has always been a pet peeve of mine. Really nice work on the Librarian, cannot wait to see him finished off.

Ah yes, I deplore the lack of proper updates avalible but the last weekend became a tad more.. hectic than I had anticipated. I was forced to go back to Stockholm two days earlier than planned and since I also needed to change the breaks and a few other things on my car before I jumped on the train the whole packing thing became a bit rushed. This meant that the essentials where packed and not the hobby-things (wich need a bit more care in handling than t-shirts and jackets). So I'll have to wait with working on these projects until I have time to go and pick up my paints and minis. So probably a week or two from now.

Good luck with your travels and all. I guess we'll just have to wait patiently for updates, so hurry

Fantastic stuff STC. I agree completely with your helmetless terminator comment as well. Never made any sense to me, I don't care how awesome your sense are space wolves. Keep your helmet on!

I also 100% agree. I should never know what a Marine's face looks like. These are the elite of mankind... why did you take your helmet off?

Ah well, I can excuse the scouts, they aren't supposed to be neck-deep in orcs anyway so the helmet probably does get in the way there.
I'll be back at my paintingstation this weekend and finish that terminator Librarian and another Alpha Legion assultmarine.. then there will be some random things too I guess.

I'm most certainly looking forward to it. The synergy of your color scheme for the Alpha Legion is just amazing. I expect good things!

I don't reet like my marines without helmets but depends how your displaying them.

Heeey.. look at all this dust.. .. Time for a small update eh?

So, I had some time off this sunday so I dug up my travel-hobby-box and got some painting done.
Chosen with Plasma gun, I havn't finished his boarding shield yet but it's comming. Annoyingly enough I had forgotten to throw in my hawk turquoise so I had to make do with mixing regal blue and white for the powercoils on the plasma gun, it works for now but that has to be changed.
Not added any freehand or decals yet but it's comming too.

Pics! what you really want and not my rambling. Lighting was a little iffy because .. well I am a bit short on lights to make a proper setting for taking photos but you'll just have to make do. the deathwatch icon came out a little blurry, have to fix that too.

He's looking really nice. Whats going on with his left shoulder pad looks odd but cool. Being multi layered really makes it stand out with the highlights.

I may be incorrect, but it looks like it is the shoulder pad from the SM Command Squad sprue. The ones used on the Champion model.

Yepp, it's a Mk 8 'Errant' Shoulderpad from the command squad box. GW is funny that way, they give you the mk 8 helmet and chest (segeant upgrade) in the tactical squad box and the shoulderpads in the commandbox. Legs and arms are still missing from their range so far.
Mark Bredford mumbled something about 'we'll get to them eventually, maybe next year' last Gamesday about Forge World producing Mk 8-kits. Wich would make me a happy goblin, trying to get semi-complete mk8 suits are a friggin' nightmare.
The few metal ones the produced are OOP since years back so they are a hell to get hold of too.

For those of you who are wondering this is what I am going on about; Jes Goodwin's original concept for the Mk 8 from 1990.

You sir, have already inspired me to paint loyalist Alpha Legionaries! I just hope they come out as amazing as yours do!
