Thanks guys.

You know a few pages back I said that Mark Bredford had 'promised' that Forge World would do Crusade-era Terminators? well...

They're Heeeeere!

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

I know! they are great, perfect for my legion

I was just about to order a contemptor and a couple of mk IV kits but that'll have to wait another week or so because I will have to throw these boys in the mix.

Glad you like them, but they barely qualify as Pre-Heresy style terminators.

I was hoping for something more like this:

I like them well enough, but they just aren't the Pre-Heresy look I was hoping for...

You have to read the flavourtext Alpharius, these where late models produced in limited numbers at the very end of the great crusade. ''-Perhaps the most advanced form of Tactical Dreadnought Armour, the Tartaros pattern shares many systems with the MkIV ‘Maximus’ pattern of power armour, and provides greater mobility for its wearer than the Indomitus pattern with no loss in durability or protection. -FW''. This is the hightech version, the big and bulky design is another mark that more closly resembles the plastic kit Indominus-pattern armour. I would not be suprised if they released that version as an upgrade kit.
After all, they only need to make different shoulderpads, a heavy gorget and a new helmet.. and lots of leather straps

Oh I know, I'm just disappointed that "true" Pre-Heresy Teinators weren't released first.

These are certainly OK though!!

Alpharius what you're referring to is the 'Cataphractii' pattern terminator armour. It is noted for being exceedingly cumbersome and inefficient, but also the most well-protected of the 3

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

—Captain Khârn of the World Eaters Legion's 8th Assault Company, from his unpublished treatise The Eighteen Legions

Which, of course, will mean nothing rules wise and we'll just be stuck with those ugly ass shoulder pads, torsos, and helmets.

If he was still in the Deathwatch you'd be right, but also his armour would be black and his left arm silver.

Hehe, I know it's on the wrong arm, it just looks better with the bulky shoulderpad on the side that will take most fire, you'll see what I mean once I finish his boardingshield.
Also, it's kind of stolen equipment too.

Dear Forge World.. You know I like you very much eventhough I don't buy as many of your things as I want to (mostly because of my quite lean studentloans and rampant expenses for keeping a roof over my sorry ass) I still has made an effort to afford at least my long coveted Contemptor, a MkIV armourkit or two and if I slash down on foods a little those nifty new terminators will also find a nice home and a lick of indigo paint.

While I do find your latest endeavour quite worthwhile in price and design.. where the hell am I going to find those extra £80? Forge World o Why do you TEMPT ME SO!

Storm Eagle Gunship, ... you devious, genious bastards. Just take my VISA-card and let's be done with it!

Experimental rules showed on FW open day says it's a Fast Attack option for Codex: Space Marines, Dark Angels, Space Wolves & Black Templars.

BA has to make do with the stormraven. No Stormeagles for them!
